Yellow White Red Audio for Projectors
-
OK So I know this a ID10T question, but how can I setup 2-4 speakers to attach to a ceiling mounted projector?
I don't do a lot of audio work, but I also know it isn't something difficult.
I'm looking at this projector an Epson W29, and then I'm still considering options for speakers.
This is for a conference room, so I don't need anything killer. Working on as tight a budget as possible.
-
If you use an RCA splitter on the two audio jacks that will give you four speakers. -
- Two Right
- Two Left
-
However, I would recommend going to a small audio amplifier first.. so you can boost the output a bit more than possible with the projector itself.
-
You need either powered speakers or an amp that will power the speakers
-
@gjacobse Ok so what amplifier would you recommend? Is an amp really needed?
-
Yes an amp is needed for if you want anything louder than headphones would be.
Think about the speakers on a desktop PC. These all have an internal amp normally in one speaker (that's why there is a power plug).
You'll need the same here. You take the output from the projector (how does the projector get the audio stream?) into an amp,, the amp then drives the speakers.
-
Well the goal with the projector is to use the network projection functionality. I assume (need to confirm) that the "EasyMP" software will transfer sound as well.

you could use something as small as this:

Yep, sure could. Just don't tell @art_of_shred.

If 20 Watts is enough in each speaker, that should be fine.
-
So any recommendations on ceiling tile speakers that are low cost, decent quality?

If I continue to ignore him, he can't bother me.

Would these suffice?
There is a 70V transformer version as well, double the cost though.
-
Audio isn't cheap. A few hundred dollars is the cheap end of this solution.
-
@Dashrender So what would you recommend for speakers?
-
I could use these which have a 70V transformer build in, and it's a 4 pack.

I don't have a specific recommendation. The last time I did one was more than 10 years ago. I purchased a typical home receiver, ran speaker cables to the speakers, and an input cable to the cable set in the middle of the room.
The speakers and amp kinda need to be matched together, this shouldn't be hard, and Art definitely knows a lot more about this than me.
-
Paging @art_of_shred for recommendations on a speaker amp combo.
-
So this is what I have for an existing parts list, tell me if I'm insane.
RCA Audio Splitter to support 4 speakers
RCA audio cables - 6 foot long
-
@DustinB3403 You already bought/own these parts?
