XiVO - Open Minded Telecom System

As I have not noticed anyone mention this product before, time to ask.
Has anyone used or tested XiVO?
It is Asterisk based and has nothing to do with FreePBX or Sangoma.
I learned about it from Nerd Vittles and their anti FreePBX/Sangoma schtick.

I will be turning one up to test sometime soon.

I do not like the GUI. But you can posit that no one but the admin should be in it anyway.

Kinda like what Cisco Jabber can do. Pretty neat.

I downloaded it from Nerd Vittles and started to get it installed on my Pi but haven't had time to further investigate

I would not use any Nerd Vittles setup when looking into a new system.
Nerd Vittles has their own agenda and I have never liked all the crap they bundled into their IncrediblePBX setup.
I do like how they now provide most of the stuff as individual setup scripts though.
It is a great blog for IP Telephony in general, but never forget that they have their own agenda.

Well currently they are railing against all the evil that is FreePBX because it is not 100% FOSS.
Before FreePBX was a distro they were so anal about security you could not even access the user control panel in PBX in a Flash without knowning the
maintpassword. -
