Pings to Exchange server sometimes result General Failure

I have a user who's on wireless. They have Windows 10 and Office 2016 (though they had similar issues on Windows 8.1 and Office 2013) that when they leave a ping window going pinging the exchange server, occasionally instead of a normal reply, the line says
general failureWe started the ping test because the user was mentioning that recently they have frequently noticed that Outlook is offline, but their web based apps are working just fine.

General failures usually indicate an issue with the NIC or AP.

Also to you have a firewall on the client that could be blocking them? is there a VPN client on this computer?

Yeah I'm thinking that my wireless system is starting to have issues. I have an 8 year old Cisco 4400 controller and APs.
There aren't any errors in the logs as I can tell (not a Cisco expert), but there have been a noticeable amount of wireless problems lately.

On a separate topic, we're rolling out GPO's to disable the Wireless when the Ethernet is connected.
We have a pretty robust wireless solution, but with everyone bringing their cell phones, connecting with their laptops, and then the other mobiles (ipads etc) things just get bogged down.
Simply put, if you don't need wireless on your laptop, it gets turned off.

While it doesn't turn off, doesn't wired become the preference when wired is available?

Depends on the weight of the route, but yes in general it's suppose to. I never turn my wireless off so I can undock and roam and It goes over wired always if docked.

@Jason They can't connect to the domain network, they're force onto the guest network. As we required any devices that want to join the domain network, they must already be in the domain.
Additionally, they need to authenticate via RADIUS.
The guest network is vlan'd off.
