I emailed the lady and sent her my certificate, and asked if I still needed to complete the course.
She said no, and she would update my information in their database.

that's 3.5 hours of my life that I could have been working on something else.

@wrcombs Classful networking was replaced with CIDR- Classless Inter-Domain Routing, which basically allows you to subnet your network to whatever size you want without really taking into consideration the specific IP ranges that where used before for subnett classes before.

So as you mention, it is totally find today to use the 10.X.X.X and subnet it to only have 254 hosts in the network when using a 255.255.255.0 mask if that is what you require for network.

I tend to use a lot of different 10.x.x.x/24 subnets when working with clients, just because of the headaches caused by using a 192.168.0.x/24 or 192.168.1.x/24 that all the consumer junk defaults to.

Just saw a job posting for Arby's (the local franchisee's company.. there are many franchises ) looking for IT Support..

Funny thing about that is my Sister Branch in Davenport IA supports all Arby's no matter the franchise. . . and I'm already certified to work on the POS system they use at all locations (regardless of Franchise).

I'm debating on sending them my resume.

I've said it before, but man I HATE payment device companies. . .

Looked at my pay stub and my overtime from the last week of the pay period isn't on there..

It's on the time sheet. So I brought it to my Bosses attention, and my bosses boss attention. Hopefully they cut me a check for it today.

No Checks being cut today - they're adding the over time hours to my check this pay period (to be paid in 2 weeks) plus they added an extra hour of over time I over looked from the pay period.

Vendor pushed a software update to one of my customers last night. Got an email this morning that it failed and they needed me to finish it manually.
10 minutes later, site is up and running - and I haven't even finished my first cup of coffee yet.

Just setup my sons COVID test for this afternoon - No symptoms but he was in contact almost 7 days ago and this is when he is supposed to be tested.

May he test negative.

Hoping so! no symptoms and wasn't in direct contact with the person who tested positive to begin with.

and the Rapid test came back negative

apparently there is a new name for Point of Sale systems that we are supposed to use in it's place - because saying "POS" could be confused for something else lol
so now we call them "Digital Ordering Systems" or DOS for short which I'm pretty sure DOS is already an acronym I just for the life of me can't remember what it stands for.

But POS works, because every single one I've dealt with are appropriately referred to either way.

I'm not denying that in anyway cause the few i've worked with they have cool stuff about them but still are pos.

Remote working day due to being sick randomly Wednesday and Thursday - finally started feeling better this morning, not 100% yet but better than I was.

Playing with Powershell waiting for calls this morning - found a free microsoft course on powershell scripting.

Bad things come in three's right? was at a funeral service for an uncle on my dads side, when we got the call that my aunt died (same side) just waiting for the 3rd bad thing to happen (or find out about it)

Cleaning out my desk and work van this week for exactly that reason and i've been making phone calls to customers already

Wiping the work computer tomorrow morning when I come in, putting a fresh install of windows10 on it and wiping my hands of this place , the count down continues.. getting more and more excited.
