The new power supply (5V 15W) arrived just 25 hours after ordering. It was shipped from somewhere near France roughly 500km to the north. With standard parcel. Awesome.
Frankenswitch v3 loves it:

Most of our servers all have iLO, iDRAC. I haven't used IPMI... Some of our older servers don't have the built in tools.
Have you considered adding them? Buying external KVM is no different than adding them in. We used to add in used cards for like $20.
Addin cards for what? iDRAC / iLO? I thought you had to buy some kind of software licenses for those?
You didn't have to when you bought them as external cards.
These cards are often externally or battery powered embedded controllers that let you power on your hardware for example.
@scottalanmiller Sadly enough, we eventually found a term for it...
@scottalanmiller you already told me before, will check out NX. But as far as I understood, NX is creating new sessions like RDP?
@scottalanmiller We're seeing an effect in EDU some of us call bulimia-nervosa-learning. Memorizing as much as possible right before an exam and forgetting everything the very second after. Maybe that's related to this.
Uhm...
(Photo from old tablet screen, sorry, no screenshot tool installed)
Normally RDP, SSH and X11 forwarding for me. Used AnyDesk (anydesk.com/remote-desktop) a few times. Fast, very fast. Built by former TeamViewer devs AFAIK. Don't know about security...

HA ha. Finally a use for a Mac!
We are working quite a bit with SysML and UML here. Maybe I should add a hard requirement for the next project: "Enough explosive compounds must fit into the device in case the customer is unsatisfied"
@BBigford : Sorry for getting offtopic
@scottalanmiller That guy got another video where he fires at iPad's and Samsung Galaxy's.... with a .50 rifle (he's... special, to say the least and I'm not a big fan of weapons but hey, that's ok)
@RojoLoco maybe, but ML is a bit more unique IMHO compared to the average forum.

@Jason So that guy saw your post here?
Yeah, sadly they can't post here. Godaddy employees apparently aren't allowed too.
That's a crappy policy. Having no voice for customer service is problematic.
Yeah, but it seems like ML is getting a name

We moved to OOB systems (ILO, DRAC, IPMI) as our KVMoIP solution around 2002 and never looked back. Best KVM systems ever.

Mostly onboard OOB like SAM, but I'm also using http://www.aten.com/KVM-Over-IP.htm for some devices.
Just ordered this one today http://ebay.eu/286JrFA to improve FrankenSwitch. Internal power supply for WLAN AP, RPi and probably a small touchscreen
Will post some new picture when it's done.
I'm using OEM'd Eaton (IBM 3000VA's). Have yet to see one failing. Batteries on the other hand are just that, batteries, and need to be replaced at some point.
Online AG Xanto (you'll need to use google translator or something like that I'm afraid) is quite popular here in German - It's a German company.

It tells me the domain is protected. There's no option in the panel to unprotect it. Domain is already unlocked.
In case you want to transfer it, auto-renewal shouldn't matter. In case of
upcoming deletion, why unlocked?[...] Godaddy will not allow you to [...]
Won't help you right now, but... That's why I'm using Internetworx (inwx.com). Virtually anything about domain handling and DNS. Plus: Real humans on the other side.
@scottalanmiller said in Mangolassi Issue sometimes:
A few people have been reporting that. The load on the site is averaging much higher than normal, that is the only guess that we have as to the issue. Strangely, the server does not seem to be having any capacity problems so we are struggling to track down where the bottleneck is (plus we've not seen it here, only a few people have reported it and at very different times.)
Maybe single threads/processes are dying. Have seen that a few years ago.
Schandmaul, InExtremo, ... middleage folk rock. Quite cool when in the right mood:

Big picture: Disable automount for volume, set readonly flag, mount. Since it's readonly, no write operation should occur. A mechanically damaged spindle can still suffer from this, e.g. heads scratching on the platters.
