Solved Remounting of HDD in Windows

The Hard disk can be remounted in Linux by going to the Single User Mode.
Whether the harddisk installed with the Windows OS can be remounted while it was having issue in the OS?
If the HDD can be remounted in the machine,how will be the impact for the same.
Any data loss will be possible for the HDD??

Big picture: Disable automount for volume, set readonly flag, mount. Since it's readonly, no write operation should occur. A mechanically damaged spindle can still suffer from this, e.g. heads scratching on the platters.
