I contacted them. I have to fax them a copy of my drivers license in order to turn off auto renew.

Are you the admin/owner on the account?

yeah, it's one of my personal domains.. It's for protection.. I think it's a scam. It can take up to 30days to review. and of course auto-renew is June 16th.

That sucks. I might turn it off then. I never paid attention to it.

Also note that auto-renew is triggered a full month prior to expiration.

@Jason Strange. I have had about 10 domains and even SSL cert renew exactly 30 days before, which is way before I was expecting them to. The SSL, I had to call and cancel because I didn't want it.

With GoDaddy, I have always turned off auto renew on everything right after I buy it.

Someone from Godaddy saw this and got it fixed. It's now turned off.

Yeah, sadly they can't post here. Godaddy employees apparently aren't allowed too.

That's a crappy policy. Having no voice for customer service is problematic.

Not that unusual of a policy though. Stupid but not unheard of.

Seems like many companies now realize the negative PR shitshow that can ensue on public forums. It's basically the only leverage we have against them at this point.

@RojoLoco maybe, but ML is a bit more unique IMHO compared to the average forum.
