finally at work. up over night with a mild dose of food poisoning. felt ok this morning so off to work. bumpy roads on the way to work made it a challenging trip.

ducking the cold. it was 33c on Monday, now it's around 10c. will be bringing the firewood back up to the house when i get home.

haha, going out for thai tonight! 140km round trip just for a meal out & dodge the roos at the very end of the night driving through the bush.

i love cablers who don't mark data points. I love even more the cowboys who don't use patch panels and just 'krone' leads straight int the blocks. what a mess this place is.

just been offered an increase on my govt contract, more work = more $$$. it's a good thing

one thing that drives me nuts is their use of 'sign off' sign out' log off 'log out'. with W10, you go 'sign off' and then you're asked if you want to 'sign out'

i can remember when MS products were only considered lowly desktop products, then NT came along and they worked like hell to create an image that MS & NT were a highly professional enterprise company that could be trusted. they did get to that point (IMO), but along came W10 and the whole image thing started to revert back to the desktop kiddie image (again IMO).

anyway i'm going to lunch early.

Hahaha, never watched that @nadnerB , just looked like more abc junk. that video is probably much more entertaining than the show.

I never ended up watching it but the multi-slapping is quite fitting in describing what working in a Tech Support/customer service/other "I interact with people" job can be like.

I can still remember helping someone years ago that couldn't log into someting.

Me: "OK, type in your username here"
Me: "great, now put your password in here"
Them: "is my password the same as my username?"
Me "no that's your username, that's why password & username are spelt and sound different, the are different things"

friday 10:15 am. hit 112 yesterday, didn't drop much under mid 70s all night. damn koalas kept me awake through the night growling, guess it was too hot for them as well.
