      Fucking over it.

      I'll be back later.

Calm down and be rational (as best you can) throwing a shit fit will not work in your favor. Good luck.

That's why I went for a walk and grabbed some food.

      It's not professional.

Nor legal. US law says you get paid for time worked. In fact, you get paid for work done even if they don't make you do it - they have to fire you if they don't like paying for that extra time (I don't like that law, but I understand why it exists.) If you were in any way involved with them, whether reading email, avialable for a call, at your desk, thinking about their needs... they HAVE to pay. It's not a discussion, it's not a negotiation. The work has been done, the money is now yours. It is theft to not pay you. There's zero "up to the manager" here. Zero. And they can't fire you for demanding not to be stolen from, that's even more illegal. They can't threaten to hurt you to get you to work for free.

He's literally demanding that you be a slave.

here's the kicker; He doesn't have any say in what I get paid.

So then why is he asking/mentioning it or otherwise discussing your pay?

He's attempting to steal from him and convince him not to call the authorities.

My guess is that someone above this prick knows the law and will throw him out on his ass with one meeting regarding his bully tactics. Have you tried going over his head? By all means, get out of there, but at least take it to HR.

If they threaten to fire you because you aren't willing to work for free, walk out and go straight to a lawyer.

Cut and dry. You most likely wouldnt even have to put up a retainer. This sounds like a lawyers cha-ching wet dream.

You are up in Denton, you might get gas. Down in SE Denton County you can't have gas, we are in the clay fields here. Gas lines can't be in the ground.

Wow.... Did not know that. Yep, I have gas. I also have it in my home for heating. πŸ™‚

This is the one I have in my home and the one our company sells exclusively to the public. Most CO detectors do not even sense until 20 to 20 ppm. This thing rocks. I would and have bet my life on it. I almost died on a mountain from CO poisoning.

It can be my call if I decide that's what I want to do.

Gotcha, then yeah why deal with managing multiple work-spaces unless there was a critical need for it.

Just looked at my Laptop - There's no VGA.. Its HDMI .
I dont have a HDMI Monitor.. But I do have a HDMI to VGA adapter .

Why the fuck would a laptop recently purchased have VGA in today's market. VGA is ancient tech and for use on much older systems.

Why the Fuck would we purchase something that can't be used ?

Your laptop has HDMI, your monitor does not. I'm assuming your employer is just playing at being at business. It's insane to have monitors that are VGA only. . . that's at least 8 year old equipment.

Our PC's we sell to customers dont' have HDMI so why would we need HDMI?

What does that have to do with the conversation about a recently purchased laptop and the technology that is in it?

The business purchased a laptop (have you ever looked at the current market for laptops, almost none are going to have VGA ports). Thus the business should purchase (it's employees, fuck the customer at this point) modern equipment to be used with their current laptops.

you're completely and blatantly missing the point.
The company wont buy anything they wont use to sell to a customer unless it's specifically asked for. because unlike 85% of ML - i work in a Customer Driven Industry.

So the business ends up selling their own employees computers to customers after they've been used? Holy crap this place is bad. .

where did you come up with that?

      Here

wtf does that have to do with upselling employee computers to customers after use?

Because it's practically unheard of to sell equipment to a customer after it's been used for production for another business. Is the equipment sold as "Used" at least?

      equipment isn't sold used.
these PC's came from inventory - as they were supposed to be sold to a customer.

For "My" clarity and sanity, are they dedicated POS (no pun intended) systems that you sell?

That is where it is going to end up I believe. It was more of a challenge than a need. I did notice something that may or may not help me FWIW. lsipc gives you back Broadcom BCM4331 which linux wifi drivers website points to B43 drivers, but when you use the built in MAC hardware diagnostics it reports back as using X28 Airport drivers. Have not and may not pursue that line of WTF? Anyway, I learned a lot of new stuff so not a total waste of time.

Your advice is much appreciated sir. :thumbs_up_medium-light_skin_tone:
