In Missouri, we have what is called the A+ program. HS kids go through a program and have to meet certain requirements. Once they do, their first two years of college at a community college is free. My kids are doing this.

@scottalanmiller While I think the scope of the request is a bit broad and has privacy concerns for other people not related to those arrested. I do not believe that there is an issue with the government trying to see if the people that were arrested did go to that website and did plan. It changes what charges and what sentencing can be rendered so it is pertinent to the case. I believe it should be a more narrow request than what it was.

Right, a narrow, appropriate request would be for the court case. This is not what a warrant related to the court case would look like.

I also know though you always ask for the moon and then settle for what you really want.

Honestly, I wouldn't use Nethserver for this, I would go straightup CentOS 7

Or Fedora 26, even more updated.

I understand that, and if I was going to be the main person using this, then I would do that. I am not though so I have to take that into consideration.

What type of specs should I be looking at for about 800 users and 450 machines? Doing their implementation of AD and basic file services?

ML is slow today, where is everyone?

I've been up too late several nights and needed to catch up.

I know the feeling. I went to "bed" at 1:30 last night. Olivia woke me up at 1:45 and cried for 2 hours. I put her to bed again and then she woke up again an hour later. I got a total of 2 hrs last night. Pretty sure she is coming down with something.

Ahh.. So glad my kids are older. However, This December our youngest is 13, my daughter is 14, my son is 16 and our oldest is 17. I am not sure what I would rather deal with. At least I get to sleep somewhat better at night.

They want it to prove "Malice Aforethought" on the people that they arrested. That they planned, conspired, to do what they did.

Granted those perverts shouldn't be doing that but you must take precaution like only accept airdrop from contacts in your phone, or not work in NYC. I love the country life.

    • RE: Installing Gluster on CentOS 7

@scottalanmiller @travisdh1 Another question. I have two SSDs for the main OS (RAID 1), CentOS, then I have the 8 TB enterprise drive for the gluster store. What are your thoughts of needing raid on the 8 TB drive that would be in each machine? I was going to have the gluster store replicate itself to each machine so we only have 8 TB of storage but in theory, we could lose two of the machines and be okay, correct? In a perfect world, I would raid the 8 TB drives with a raid 1 for redundancy, however, this is for my friend who is at a school district that literally doesn't have two pennies to rub together, so the cost of the drives is an issue. He is just now starting to virtualize machines after I have been badgering him forever about it. He picked up some refurbished supermicro servers that we will be using.

I was thinking about doing Gluster Storage for my three KVM Hosts and keep my KVM VMs there. So if I made a virtual machine for the Gluster that used all the storage on each machine and then mounted the Gluster store in each KVM host for storage, would there be any disadvantage to that?

@penguinwrangler said in Who is Two Month and Why Was He Imprisoned?:

After reading this thread I have to say that Scott's argument was more compelling. Let me tell you why.
1.) I was a prison guard for 6 years. I always assume people are not telling the truth.
2.) I now work with attorneys which has taught me if something is left vague, it is not for my benefit.
3.) Also because of the attorneys, people will use doublespeak which will result in them implying one thing but actually meaning the opposite.
Which boils down to the fact that you have to always ask questions, even if they are obvious and nail people down to what they exactly mean. You are the only person that can look out for you.

4.) Always get answers and explanations in writing. -- potentially even if you don't feel a need to CYA.

Always do number four when money or relatives are involved. Especially if both are involved.

@irj I will setup a store and offer the generic brands at a high cost than the name brand, not a lot higher but higher. You can then order from my store and I will give you back some of the money. It will still be cheaper than the name brand that way for you. It is a win win.
