I think ours is done by Interstate Batteries. But Safety/Maintenance handle all that.

The next IoT device to add to the botnet
Yup. Get a DVR and use a VPN or SSL not something that uses their online service...
I don't have a problem with using someone's online service as long as my device doesn't need to be published through my own router. Sure if the vendor gets hacked, the hackers could use that connection to try to get back into my network, but I'm a soft target compared to the vendor's network.
Not really.. Not when there's millions of those devices to uses in a DDoS. You all become part of the plan.

I maintain SA on my servers, CALs and until next year Office. I'll be dumping Office for O365 next year ( I hope) Staying current is what I consider worthwhile.
Sure we stay current.. but for example office was release every three years (2007-> 2010 ->2013 - >2016) It was cheaper to buy new outright than to use SA.

RE: Surface Pro 3: Boot from USB
Configure your Surface to start from a USB device
Once your USB drive is set up as a bootable drive with an appropriate operating system on it, you’ll need to set up your Surface to boot from this drive. This requires you to make changes in the UEFI. Here’s how to configure the boot order on Surface so the USB drive is the first option.
For info on using the UEFI on your Surface, see How do I use the BIOS/UEFI?
To make changes in the UEFI:
Step 1: Shut down your Surface.
Step 2: Once Surface has turned off, press and hold the volume-up button.
Step 3: With the volume-up button held down, press and release the power button.
Step 4: Continue holding the volume-up button until the Surface logo no longer appears on the screen.
You should now see the Surface UEFI. Do one of the following:Surface Pro 3 and Surface 3: Go to Step 5 below.
Surface Pro 1 and Surface Pro 2: Skip to Step 9 below.
Surface Pro 3 and Surface 3:
Step 5: Select Configure Alternate System Boot Order.
Step 6: Do one of the following:
Surface Pro 3: Select USB > SSD
Surface 3: Select Network > USB > SSD.
Step 7: Select Exit Setup.
Step 8: Select Yes to save the configuration and restart Surface.
Surface Pro 1 and Surface Pro 2 (optional for Surface Pro 3)
Step 9: Select Secure Boot Control.
Step 10: Select Disable. This will allow Surface to search for an alternate device to boot from aside from your SSD.
Note
This may affect the look of your Surface splash screen.
Step 11: Select Exit Setup.
Step 12: Select Yes to save the configuration and restart Surface. -

Server 2012 R2 is still an actively sold SKU through Volume Licensing channels.
Why would you buy that? It should be the same or nearly the same as 2016 (now for sale) and with VL you get access to old media and keys for downgrade rights. Buying an old version today seems unwise.
For us it's over a $10k difference between 2012 R2 Datacenter and 2016 Datacenter per host. cores addup quickly.
There's also functionality difference. But in a company like you're the fact that you don't have SA just floors me!
With Microsofts update Cycle SA and the costs of stuff under EA is not worth it.

Looks like Adito is an open-source, browser-based SSL VPN solution which is actually the open-source clone of SSL-Explorer. http://lars.werner.no/?page_id=153 and a how-to guide on https://www.howtoforge.com/installing-adito-openvpn-als-on-centos
*Not tested, just found it on search
Hasn't been updated since 2013.. probally not even a fork.. just the same code from SSL-Explorer

Webroot API,
Hopefully it doesn't control any of the client AV.. Malware will be tying into it to disable it

Also (somewhat) annoying was some of the manual intervention I had to take to remediate an infection. Sophos would alert me of the infection on the dashboard but said that no action could be taken and it would have to be manually deleted, so I went to the path in the alert and deleted I manually. I thought this strange so I reached out to tech support, who verified that the Sophos client service was not able to automatically remove or quarantine a somewhat trivial file in some specific paths. It was not amazing at detecting a threat before it made it onto the filesystem... maybe there's no minifilter driver?
Maybe it's the version you are using, but Enterpise can you setup rules on your Sophos Enterpise console to handle it.
That's because Webroot ties into the Sophos API.
There is no Sophos API.. Heck an API for an AV would be a security vulnerability.
