Supposedly wasn't hacked. was just reusing password people had else where that were already stolen.

That is the official TV line, but since people with 2FA were compromised it doesn't ring true to me.

But none of the reports are Verified. Just random people posting about it..

      http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/06/01/teamviewer_mass_breach_report/

At least one person has a verified online identity, and would have a great deal to lose being outed as lying about a TV breach.

You mean the Twitch streamer named Doug? I clicked through that link to his profile yesterday. Not all that big of a deal with only 100 followers. So how much does he stand to lose?

He did not post anything solid about this, as linked by the article at least. His twitter lists him as a casual streamer. https://twitter.com/goombamunki

And he might even gain more people just from the publicity of it.. so it's a win/win for him.

Also note that auto-renew is triggered a full month prior to expiration.

      It's not for me.

I contacted them. I have to fax them a copy of my drivers license in order to turn off auto renew.

Are you the admin/owner on the account?

yeah, it's one of my personal domains.. It's for protection.. I think it's a scam. It can take up to 30days to review. and of course auto-renew is June 16th.

on ours I don't even have to dial a 9 if I don't want too. I can do 7 or 10 digit dialing. But it takes longer for the call to process and send to the PSTN if you don't dial 9 first. It's all in the rules we have setup.

That's a Mitel as well? I know with Asterisk you can dial 10 or 7 digits with no additional delays. You're right it is all in the rules though.

There's likely some delay even with Asterisk. It has to realize you're finished dialing.

      No, we use Cisco.

      This is what I get

Have you recently requested some other service on the domains that would cause it to get auto-protected?

Nope. I'm trying to chat with them now to see if they can unprotect it.

It tells me the domain is protected. There's no option in the panel to unprotect it. Domain is already unlocked.

In case you want to transfer it, auto-renewal shouldn't matter. In case of
      upcoming deletion, why unlocked?

Godaddy will not allow you to delete or cancel auto renew while its locked or protected. Lock is removed, there is no option to unprotect. According to some forums it's a godaddy scam to get more money cause you have to call them (they no longer to email or ticket support) and then they wait until after the auto renew date to change it

No sure why they can't do translation rules, Cisco can still do this. The problem is if you "live" dial by picking up the headset first the system usually will assume you want the PSTN

I think pressing the 8 is the same as live dialing, that's why they can't intercept it.

      No, it's not it's a dial pattern.

So we are now taking over the maintenance for a remote office, as the vendor we have is super expensive and not performing nearly as well as was hoped.

With this a few issues come to light:

      • The remote systems are in Spanish - not my strongest language
      • The remote systems are at varied degrees of updates etc
      • Accessing the systems is difficult at times (remote access)

Looking for some ideas to try and simplify the management / maintenance of these systems.
      Thanks

Hire an IT person who knows both languages. That's what we do.

If you had normal (not ISP locked in) SIP lines and/or an open source PBX (or any number of apparently better proprietary ones) this would not be an issue. It's mind boggling that this is an issue as it is. But someone made some decisions here and this is the result of those. No idea why someone made them, but they did. Let them know the results of their decisions and ask them how they want to handle it.

It is a Cox provided SIP trunk. So of course they can do this if they want. It is 100% their network. I am willing to bet that a Cox SIP trunk has no such restriction though. It is highly unlikely that Cox has a completely separate switch for SIP service compared to PRI service, and you did not have this problem when the same numbers came in over the Cox PRI.

The problem is more likely bad routing on the Mitel side.

Agreed. I've seen Translation patterns that are two vague cause issues like this (sometimes even causing loops not stop in and out of the SIP trunks).

We have a translation pattern for the DIDs to just translate to the internal extensions, Simple and saves money.

You agree'd to the terms when you installed the software..... sadly so have I and so many other businesses / people.

      It's a runtime. aka a redistributable https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24417

It comes with other software. Nothing in the EULA for it allows this.
