I was under the impression that Mac Mail integrated nicely with Exchange (including Contacts & calendards, etc)?

      Has this been tested?

It does but it uses active sync only just like mobile devices so some of the features like sharing, public folders etc will be limited. It needs additional connections for that. Heck I think on Macs the GAL isn't even supported.

It's been a few years since I've touched a Mac on Exchange, but ours worked well with it, and Calendar sharing as well. (We didn't use public folders or anything).

In Apple Mail? He said no Outlook App

It's all encyprted using your iCloud Keychain and HomeKit uses AppleTV as a relay rather than exposing directly. Seriously you don't want lock makers (looking at you kwikset, they made bad locks anyway though) handling the Network security site of it.

Assuming of course the lock makers didn't futz the implementation details, or actually issue updates for any unforseen problems in the future.

      Apple verifies them.

We still do public folders even on 0365. But they are considered depreciated I believe.

I would just tell him if he wants the features to work he needs to use the standard issue clients.

Just bought me a Schlage Smart lock.. They make some of the best and strongest locks out there..

      https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BKZW8CG/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&th=1

BTW if you are into home automation like me, you really should stick with Apple HomeKit Products Why? Because apple designed the system that the products use. It's all encyprted using your iCloud Keychain and HomeKit uses AppleTV as a relay rather than exposing directly. Seriously you don't want lock makers (looking at you kwikset, they made bad locks anyway though) handling the Network security site of it.

I know that I've toured Houston DCs that were designed for at least ten feet of water on the production floor.

Ours are raised for water but, that does you no good if the Backbone providers are going to go down... and if natural gas lines break we only have a short window on UPS without Generators.

I complained to an Amazon Rep cause I just bough the Nexus 6P and went through all the trouble of setting it up etc only to here it was going to be no longer supported a week later.. (I keep my phones for a long time). Anyway I got them to agree to send me an unlocked iPhone 6s Plus refurbished at no additional cost in exchange for this one.. granted I spend a but load of $$$ on amazon..

No longer supported - HA. They are dropping support Sept of next year. This is totally inline with Google's typical support Window. The 6P will probably see the O version of Android and after that it will be done. But compare this to most Android phone makers, you're lucky if you get one OS update, let alone two over the life of a device.

They are only doing security updates. The Nexus devices are not supported and will not see any bug fixes or Android OS versions. They still haven't fixed the bluetooth issues with the 6P.

We aren't comparing them to others though, we don't care about those. That's one of the reasons we wanted vanilla.

@scottalanmiller Isn't that part of why we all virtualize so we don't have deal with raw?

You can still snapshot raw. Raw can be an image file or a volume or a full disk. Raw doesn't mean not virtualized.

RAWs biggest limitation is you can't storage vmotion it. You can vmotion the pointer but if you are retiring a SAN or something you will be doing it manually.

      @Dashrender

Dustin would still need/want to CR that host to another host allowing him to spin up that data very quickly in the case of a failure.

Use tools built for that. GFS2, Gluster, Ceph, Swift, Cinder, etc. The VM would remount after booting in the new host and the storage still fails over.

Agreed. The problem that is being run into here is one of replication capacity and affects a NAS the same that affects a VM. So you solve both in the same way.

In a VM, you turn to Gluster, et al. In physical you turn to Exablox or similar.

We have two Isilons coming. One is here and ready to be installed. Much easier than managing all of that myself.

Our guys can generate about 20TB a week between them all.

There pretty nice. We'd gotten Demo units. We use the VMAX though.

How do you guys handle them? Right now we proactively failover and shutdown them if we know there's likely to be issues anyway rather than let them automatically fail-over after something does happen.

We do both load Balancing and fail over with all of them so it's not a big deal either way, we just do it to prevent any damage from the center being powered up.

This tends to happen if you don't have AD FS for SSO setup with 0365. But if the problem should fix itself with time. Also are you checking the remember password box?

Yeah but really it's likely not the device. It's USB-C quick Charing and people using Chinese cables and chargers. With USB-C the protection is built into the cable. These a much higher amp charging that normal.
