Next I went on the hunt for the Starbucks app - wait what? There's no official Windows Phone app for Starbucks.
This is going to happen to you alot with the Windows phone. The apps selection is horrible and there are many bogus apps that Microsoft allows in their store. I guess they are so desperate for apps that they just approve everything

Event ID 1008 Server 2012 R2
I am getting this error on two of my Windows 2012 R2 Servers:
The Open Procedure for service "BITS" in DLL "C:\Windows\System32\bitsperf.dll" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the error code.I found a link in another community that talked about this error message, but nobody seems to have posted a solid answer. Scott mentioned that he was seeing it on Server 2012 in the other community. I wonder if anyone has found a fix yet?

Odd VMWare issue
On Friday, one of our application servers (Optical) froze up. I rebooted the server which took a while, but everything came back up. The same thing happened again this morning and a third time this afternoon.
I believe I know what is causing the issue. All 3 times, I was trying to either create or convert a VM template. Converting or Creating a VM usually takes 5-15 minutes to complete. On Friday, I let it run for about an hour and it was stuck slowly going from like 48%-53%. I finally gave up and canceled it. Mainly because our Optical Server went down. Once I canceled the template task in VM Optical started working fine again.
The same thing happened again this morning. After I canceled the Template task. Optical started working again. I was able to recreate this a 3rd time to make sure the template jobs were causing the problem
Troubleshooting:
I tried both templates, both caused issues
I also tried creating a VM from scratch, this also caused a hang-up. -
RE: A Small Orange Softaculous Software
Here is a list directly from Softaculous. Again, this has nothing to do with ASO almost all hosting companies use Softaculous

RE: Windows Server 2012 Start Menu
@scottalanmiller especially if you are using Windows 8.1. Server Manager is great. There is no need to use remote desktop or VNC for most tasks.

I haven't been active on the other website in over 2 years....
Pretty much the same. The only time I go over there is when someone posts something here.
So I guess we wont be going over there anymore

RE: What should be in Powershell 101 and Group Policy 101 Sessions at MangoCon 2016?
Group Policy Targeting would be an interesting topic. Group Policy itself is fairly easy to understand I think people struggle with targeting using WMI, explaining user vs computer policy and how to target using both, How to target userA, but not userB when they use the same computer and are in the same AD groups, etc.

Default Domain Policy
Before I started working where I am at, Most GPOs were created in Default Domain Policy. Slowly, I have been creating separate GPOs that logically make sense. Once I have these created, I have been removing them from the Default Domain Policy.
Are there any settings that need to stay in Default Domain Policy?

PDQ Pricing Change
Hi Joel,
We are making some changes to our product line and pricing, but this email is to let you know that as an existing customer you will NOT be affected by the price change. As long as you are current in your subscription or maintenance then YOUR COMPANY will be grandfathered with your current pricing (at your current number of licenses).
What's Changing?
We are moving to three simple tiers of pricing, which are Free, Pro, and Enterprise.
Pro licenses will automatically come with what is currently known as the Basic subscription. Enterprise will come with what is known as the Advanced subscription. All Advanced customers will automatically be moved to the Enterprise level when the change is made.Multi-user Functionality
Enterprise users at the 3.1 level of PDQ will now have the ability to share data with other PDQ users. This is a big enhancement for our customers who have more than a single admin in their company.
True-up LicensesYour grandfathered price guarantee only applies to your current license count. If you need additional licenses please get a quote for the additional licenses before our price goes into effect on 15 March 2014. Please remember that PDQ is licensed per admin user.
Sincerely,
Shawn Anderson

RE: MangoCon Postponed Due to Covid 19
I am down to attend if ML joins the trend and goes virtual like everyone else. We can be LANless and not localized to Texas due to travel restraints and hotel accommodations.
It would be much easier logistically and financially. More people could attend because it will drive costs down. You could probably find more speakers, too (hint, hint).

RE: Compatible toner / ink vs. genuine toner / ink
I have been using imitation toner for about 8 years now. I used to buy 100 toner cartridges at a time for the school district.
We would get 2-3 bad ones out of 100 pretty consistently. This was irritating, but at almost 75% savings on each cartridge it was definitely worth it.
P.S. I ordered thousands of these.

RE: Twitter Etiquette
@BRRABill said in Twitter Etiquette:
When someone follows your company on Twitter, is is considered proper to follow them back?
No
If you aren't going to interact on their posts, then why follow them? It is normal for companies to have more followers than they actually follow.
You should be concentrated on following users with a high value shareable content. That way you can share their content and in turn gain more followers yourself.

New Webroot user
Last week, @Nic helped me work with a Malware Problem on our network. He gave sent me a trial key to try to remove the Malware. Sophos ended up resolving it, but I was so impressed with the AV client. I decided to purchase Webroot SecureAnywher Internet Security Complete for my Home PCs and Smart Devices. I am very happy with the Optimizer and other features included with the suite. I cant believe how blazing fast System Scans are. Its really impressive.

Right, what is bad for the consumer is good for the vendor. And loads and loads of consumers actually like being taken advantage of. Don't disappoint them.
Absolutely. Some consumers get mad when you dont rip them off since they have become so used to get shafted.
