The new version of ONLYOFFICE online editors has been released. Here’s a brief overview of the enhancements.

In document editor

• Document comparison;
• New Content controls: pictures, combo boxes, drop-down lists, dates, checkboxes;
• Mirror and gutter margins;
• Captions for images, shapes, tables, and equations.

In spreadsheet editor

• Custom Sort;
• Scale to Fit to make a worksheet fit a printed page;
• Cell Snapping;
• Filling cells with colors, patterns, and gradients;
• Performing actions with several worksheets in bulk;
• Re-calculating formulas;
• Custom separators for thousands and decimals;
• Adjusting spellchecker settings.

In presentation editor

• Adding tables, shapes, charts, and images to the slide layout;
• Adding objects to placeholder;
• Reset Slide.

In all editors

• Removing comments in one click;
• Collaboration tab is available when sharing documents with the Comment rights;
• More options for bulleted and numbered lists.

Document comparison, adding content controls, and mobile web editors are available in ONLYOFFICE Enterprise, Integration and Developer Editions, Cloud Service as well as ONLYOFFICE Personal.

That's right ONLYOFFICE uses OOXML (docx, xlsx, pptx) as core formats and is aimed at replacing MS Office. We work with ODF using conversion.

The new version of ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors is available. The app contains document, spreadsheet, and presentation editors. It is distributed on terms of AGPLv3 license.

What’s new:

• Flip, rotate and crop images, align them to pages, margins, and slides (alignment and placement options apply to shapes too).
• Use new formulas in spreadsheets (ASC, BETAINV, HYPERLINK, and Array Formula), Text To Columns and Paste Wizards.
• Print selected areas of the sheets using the Print Area.
• Insert audio and video files in your presentations.
• Connect the app to the cloud (ONLYOFFICE, ownCloud, or Nextcloud) and try improved reviewing.
• Save docs as MS Office Open XML templates (DOTX, XLTX, and POTX), OpenDocument templates (OTT, OTS, and OTP), and ISO-standardized version of PDF called PDF-A.
  Send your documents as mail attachments right from the editors using the new Send plugin.
• Welcome Chinese as a new interface language.

With version 5.3, the tabbed toolbar is available for free Document Server users. In the new toolbar editing instruments are grouped into functional tabs to make your work more intuitive.

The new toolbar also brought several useful features previously available only in commercial builds:

• Display modes for Track Changes;
• Bookmarks;
• Navigation panel for Table Of Contents;
• Pivot table formatting;
• Presenter mode in presentation editor.

The version of ONLYOFFICE collaboration platform (Community Server) has been released. ONLYOFFICE Community Server features DMS, project management tools, CRM, mail, calendar and a platform for building corporate networks.

What’s new

• Two-factor authentication via an authenticator app,
• New access rights - users can share docs for commenting and filling forms,
• Integrated media player to play audio and video files directly in the cloud,

We do not expect storage space problems soon as we use the network for password storing and transferring only.

I'll have to look at the details, was anything done to lower the chain growth over time and change tracking resource usage?

At the moment the network is for testing purposes only, but yes we are working hard to prevent issues that might occur. We also presented this technology at two IT conferences in Europe, and the majority of questions asked were about the network))

The end-to-end encryption reinforced by blockchain is available as a developer preview in the new version of ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors.

End-to-end encryption mode allows:

• Encrypting files to store them locally or in the cloud.
• Privately editing documents in the cloud.
• Sharing encrypted documents for secure co-editing.

• Encryption on the client side.
• Documents, including temporary files, are encrypted.
• Encrypted inputs while collaborating on documents online.
• Blockchain technology for reliable password storing and transferring.

How to try

• Install the latest version of ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors.
• Open the application and go to the Settings.
• Enable the 'Test end-to-end encryption' option.
• Go to the End-to-end encryption tab on the left.
• Enable the encryption mode.

The new version of free ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors is out.

New features
All the updates from the online version (ONLYOFFICE 5.2) have been brought to the desktop app.

• Bookmarks and internal hyperlinks.

• Automated numbering.

• New content controls settings.

• Layout tab and cell settings on the right panel in the spreadsheet editor.

• Interface language settings.

Connection to ownCloud/Nextcloud

Now it's possible to connect ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors to your ownCloud or Nextcloud to work on files stored there right from the app. To do so, switch to Connect to cloud section and add your storage address.

The new version can be downloaded from the official website.

Also, I have some great news! ONLYOFFICE and Nextcloud formed an official technological partnership which means that we are ready to enhance our integration. How? We wrote a blog post about it. Brief overview:

Hello, I represent ONLYOFFICE here, and I can answer your questions, although @scottalanmiller has already done my job, I think)

We have both free and commercial builds. Just take ONLYOFFICE Community Edition (to be more exact Document Server that is a part of CE) if you need a free one. It is easy.

1. Just install our Document Server. We recommend using Docker https://helpcenter.onlyoffice.com/server/docker/document/docker-installation.aspx

2. Get the integration app from the Nextcloud App Store https://apps.nextcloud.com/apps/onlyoffice

CE has some limitations - up to 20 users. The license is AGPL v3

Integration Edition (IE) is a commercial build, a way of delivering our Document Server to enterprises.

The source code of Document Server is open and available on GitHub, so both CE and IE are open source.
