Got a new, stainless steel french press this morning... So I'm about to take her for a spin.
Spin?
Make up your mind,… is it a press or a spin….. maybe you push it?
Just push it,… push it real good.

Can’t Monday without Microsoft,…
Bitlocker prompted during start up… -sigh-That's always lovely! I hope you had your keys!
Yup,.. grabbed another computer and signed into MS-Admin and pulled from Intune… didn’t take long…

Has anyone that uses Teams seen the 'Praise' button be used for anything BUT sarcasm?
Might just be my team
Yes, the clinic wanted a way to ‘track’ positive employee to employee praise.. so, maybe the idea was some sort of reward for the highest amount at the end of a quarter,… not that I saw it used that way.
Thank you, about what I expected…. Just needed confirmation.
I am very much still getting use to the new office and its policies and how things are being done… One thing I had gotten away from at the clinic was building user accounts using ADUC. Here we start with mail.domain.com - Exchange Online.
Should I not be able to do the same thing I was with the clinic and use PS to create the user in EO and go from there? Seems logical anyway,…
Yet - it would only need to be a stop gap measure as we employ a HR site called Workday. They plan is to integrate Workday directly into AD and when HR builds the user, it builds the AD user, we would need to still apply the needed permissions, but all the other routine items would be already completed.
So, I don’t know how much time I want to invest in something - just curious and confirming what I feel.
TIA.

I had a user mention that they couldn't find Excel on their computer - they could launch an existing spreadsheet, but they couldn't find the icon to launch so they could make a new sheet.
I didn't know what happened - frankly I assumed HD corruption.
Then I ran into this article this morning.
Today is brought you by the letter ‘M’
For things like Monday and Microsoft.

Working through a list of systems that need to be rebooted... I'm seeing some absolutely horrifying uptime numbers.
Powershell- reboot =$all_system over 168hrs
Have him link to specific regulation, then verify.
Whoo hoo,.. another Friday the 13th item:
Gut punched by the shop as I’m updated that the truck needs way more service then seems practical.
2006 Honda we’ve had since July 2005, 284k miles on it. Needs a new car down payment for service…
@dbeato said in Management of NAS for SOHO?:
@Pete-S It depends on the NAS, what NAS would you use?
You can use Synology with their Management online
https://kb.synology.com/en-us/DSM/help/DSM/AdminCenter/connection_quickconnect?version=7You can do the auto update as well.
Synology or ReadyNAS,.. I have a ReadyNAS 4 bay that has been running for my personal use for a good bit now - It'll handle quite a bit more TB than the 2TB drives it has in it... so either should be good option.
I configured my ReadyNAS to notify on backup, and power loss - so there is a decent subset of tools built in.
@Pete-S
First question
How much space is used and expected for growth?
I’m still surprised just how much of a difference this office is compared to the clinic.
In the time here (Thirty days) I’ve cuss the same as I would cuss in an hour at the clinic.. big difference.

Before I left the clinic we were installing new Lexmark MFPs. I don’t remember the specific model but will try to find out.

Eight hour drive in the books, time for dinner and visits…

@gjacobse yes hasn't been good here. We are ok but several friends still trying to plow out.
Thanks for checking in, as bad as it was,.. nothing compares… as while we hit -6 on Friday, it’s suppose to be 50 today. Ugh.

Nothing like trying to get HVAC service after a;
Holiday
Extreme cold snapYup,.. this could be costly,.. house isn’t twenty years old yet and we are system number two already… this system is only seven years old…
what the hell? what's breaking on it?
Mine is from 2005, we've had blower motor go out on it, and the flame sensor had got oxidized at least twice.
I think the capacitor on the AC compressor has been replaced twice since 2005.Otherwise - no issues.
The fan shaft 'machined itself' off having to replace the fan, and they the system arced internally killing the system completely. We had to have the Indoor / outdoor units replaced in 2015.
First system was a Trane - we stopped it good. This system is an American Standard,.. Nothing may be wrong.. I just want to make sure. They'll be here at 8:15am tomorrow.. WHOOT.. Surprise they had space.
Whoo hoo,
New building will have Yealonk t46u phones. And we are pulling in RingCentral services.
