    • Registering for an HA-Lizard Account

I would like to download HA-Lizard to use in my environment, when I attempt to create the account I get the following error:

Spam attempt detected. Your requested was treated as spam by iAkismet. If you believe you should have not received this message, please contact the website administrator. You can also try to use a different Name, Email and username or try to register from a different location or computer (different IP Address).

I have tried it from multiple different IPs and have tried different emails, usernames, etc. What is interesting thou is that I was able to register using my smartphone instead of my computer. I was connected to the same network as my computer and used the same information. Has anyone else ran into this?

    • RE: Registering for an HA-Lizard Account

@DustinB3403 Yes I have confirmed that everything was entered properly and that I was doing the math equation correctly. It works from my iphone but not from my computer connected to the same wireless network. I was able to create it through the phone, so I am good to go but was just curious if others are having this issue. It sounds like it may just be me though. I'll try it from a different computer in a little while just to see if it is an issue with this particular computer. Thanks for the reply.

@scottalanmiller Thanks Scott, I ran into the same thing. I ended up having to go to the login button on the top bar and then selecting register. I then entered all the information and ran into the issue with the Spam warning. Not sure what the issue may be though.

@DustinB3403 I just tried it again and I got another Roman Numeral question, I took what @scottalanmiller said in his reply and converted it to the number 4 and I was then able to register. So it looks like my issue was that I kept replying with the Roman Numerals as my answer instead of converting it.

    • Scale Computing VS Proxmox

      Hi Everyone,
We have been using Scale Computing for the last 5 years and are up for a full stack replacement now. I was wondering if anyone has any opinions on moving from Scale to something like ProxMox? I would be very appreciative to hear any advice/opinions on this or other solutions. Just want to make sure I make the right decision for our company moving forward. Our server load is not super intense, it is 9 MS Terminal servers, 2 Exchange Servers, 2 AD servers, a couple of file share servers(both MS and Ubuntu), and then a unifi controller and that is about it. I should also note that we are also looking to change our Backup and DR vendor as well as we have been using Unitrends but have been unhappy with them since the Kaseya acquisition. Just in case that makes a difference. Thank you everyone in advance!

@scottalanmiller thank you! We definitely have some apps that some of our users are using that do not offer the ability for application layer failover. Of course those are the apps that the company uses for billing and payroll so they are critical. Based on your's and @JaredBusch's responses it definitely seems like it is worth looking into the renewal of the Scale cluster.

    • RE: Eaton Rack Mount 5P: power on issue

@gjacobse Is the power input set to the correct voltage? We ran into something similar with the 9p line where the power from the street was 208 but of course the generator was at 240. With the UPS set to 208 and the batteries not at 100% it would not turn on while the UPS was running. We found it out the hardway when the power went on and the generator did not kick on and the batteries drained down. Then the generator repair tech got the generator on but it didnt matter since we couldnt turn on the unit since it was set to 208. Confirmed it with Eaton and all.

    • RE: JAMF - Thoughts?

We are in the process of moving away from JAMF. It was good but it has a big flaw that we can not work around anymore. It does not allow the devices to have an apple id which means that they can not use Facetime. When we first signed up 2 years ago and found out about this flaw it was promised to be resolved within the next few updates but still has not. For us that was too big of a problem to continue on with. We are now just moving to the Apple Business Essentials plan for them.

    • RE: Scale Computing VS Proxmox

@JaredBusch Thank you so much for the replies! For the most part we are using Scale's benefits over the simple virtualization only when there is a Scale HC update. The rest of the time our VMs do not really move at all between nodes. We have been happy performance wise with Scale but I wanted to make sure I explored options prior to just moving forward with a renewal. As a team of 1 I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything obvious by just being swamped all of the time if you know what I mean. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply and explain.
