We're just starting to plan our upgrade......Got the consultant here for 3 days for planning stage.

I've converted most of the reports that I know of to the new GP instance...but we have spreadsheets out the yahoo and some do pull data from GP that I know will fall through the cracks...but as long as GP and it's messy plugins work at 7AM tomorrow, I can handle a few broken reports to fix...the consultant is doing all of this remotely...

Convinced not to use it...I am kind of digging Amazon's Cloud Storage, since I got it free and unlimited for a year...not as integrated as I would like but also not a pain to use...

Looks interesting, but anything of these kind, i am always worried about the auth part. Several instances where things like dropbox lost the auth keys via third party tools.

Yes...security is foremost on my mind.

Since I have left the "all in" Microsoft world, I've expanded my horizon's somewhat and am enjoying what I get from Microsoft, Google and Amazon.

Has anyone used the tool called NetDrive? http://www.netdrive.net/

Allows you to view several cloud storage acounts with one nifty Windows or Mac app...I've not tried it yet...just wondering if anyone has had any experience with it.

    • Performance Monitor - Cannot Connect To Remote PC

I am sure this is a simple solution but a proper search hasn't turned up a matching solution.

I am trying to remote Performance Monitor and all PC's I try come back with this error:

      0_1449090358201_perfMon.jpg

I think it may be something in the global profile for our Antivirus (Symantec Endpoint) but can't seem to find it. It doesn't seem to be the local Windows Firewall.

      Thanks...

Really wish I could "borrow" one for a month and see if it fits my life before buying one.

Best Buy, at least for me, has been so good returns...this is how I decided between the Gear S2 and the Android Wear Based LG Urbane.

Yeah I've been interested in getting a "Smart" watch for a while and go like the LG range. I have been looking at the LG GWatchR.
But I think i'm going to hold off until the summer until I get one. (Gives me time to save up for one :))

*Edit - should also add I need to find what apps can be used with them see if its worth replacing my existing watch (Wedding present)

I am still learning more and more about Android Wear...for a lack of better descriptions, the apps you download from Google Play that work with Android Wear seem to work in "tandem." They will find a place in the watch app list and work fairly seamlessly.

You can also voice respond to texts, can voice command "track my walk/run" and as long as you have your phone and runkeeper, it will GPS your walk.

You can also interact with some apps via the notifications. Like I can approve Chore Monster chores via the SmartWatch.

Also, when you clear a notification on the watch, it also clears it on phone. Nice...

Android Wear is a lot better than I expected and it really all depends if you need a smartwatch...bottom line, if you want fitness, go with Fitbit or Microsoft Band 2. If you want a well rounded SmartWatch with excellent notifications and step/calorie/activity counter, AndroidWear based watches are great.

I decided to go Android Wear with the LG Watch Urbane...especially since it is $100 off this past weekend. Stylish and once you get used to how it operates, a joy to use. For sure, it is nowhere near the fitness band that the Band 2 is but it is a well rounded (no pun intended) smartwatch with fantastic notifications and app integration via the notifications...

One thing that is odd about the Moto 360...the bottom 1/8 of the screen is squared off. Whereas the S2 is a full circle all times. Someone said it has something to do with the ambient light sensor but seems weird.

If you want something 'more geared toward Android' what's the push for that? what doesn't Band 2 do that you want it to do?

Perhaps I should have put less of a focus on it being Android and more so on function. Sorry.

I do like the "you've been sitting too long" kind of alerts. Band doesn't have that on any platform. I am liking the options to control my music on the S2. I don't have to have "apps" per se, like the Android Wear has but also wondering if Android Wear will eventually be the more thriving platform. Battery life is important as well.

The Band and Band 2 both gave me severe dry skin patches as well. So bad I had to stop wearing it for 1-2 weeks. I was hoping the Band 2 wouldn't do this but it did. Perhaps I just have sensitive skin but it sure wasn't pretty but it didn't cause pain or discomfort.

Band 2, eh? I was thinking about getting one.

you can't really read it at a glance without turning your head? I was wondering about that.

Band 2 is perhaps the more well rounded "smart watches". It has a built in GPS and Microsoft Health is a great app, especially for sleep monitoring. It is notification crazy, especially on Android where it gives you notifications on everything and you have to fine tune it. It is very functional as a notification device and a great fitness band. It doesn't tell you you get off your rear and walk.

If you wear it with screen under wrist, it is much easier to read but may be more awkward and could scratch more (though it has a much better scratch resistant screen now).

I've been looking for something more "build for Android" since I've converted from Windows Phone. Don't get me wrong though...Band 2 works great on Android and iOS. 🙂

I'd like to get an opinion on Android Wear before I settle on one.

Any Android Smartwatch users out there? I am considering one. I have the Band 2 and it works fine with Android but always found it awkward to wear and always have to turn my head to read it.

I am demoing a Gear S2 and so far it is nice but didn't know what I gain/lose by not going to Android Wear. Any suggestions?

My main features are notifications, fitness (steps, it alerting me to get up and walk, etc.) and battery life.

      Thanks...

@garak0410 How did you get the patches from Samsung? I'm stuck on Verizon, so I'm probably months behind, lol.

I'm on Verizon (otherwise, I may have been holding out for the Lumia 950xl for the camera alone) with the Note 5 and Samsung has pushed two security updates since I've had it.

@garak0410 I really want to like the 6P, but USB-C is still new, no wireless charging and ... well... honestly I have some reservations about Huawai

Yeah, when I saw "Huawai" I had some reservations too...Since I've had the Note 5, I've had two security patches from Samsung, so that helps some and I don't install "crap" on the phone at all.

The phone has performed well...battery life could be somewhat better but thank goodness it has fast charging.

Side note...I use a Microsoft Band 2 with it...I have to say the Band 2 works even better on Android, if for the notifications alone. 🙂
