    • RE: file sharing in the 21st century

The big difference is share the files take 10 GB in that share with NC it takes 10 GB on your machine and the share, that said it is nice to have an extra copy. However, some mentioned that there is a workaround but it is not what NC meant to do by default (spoken like true NC engineer that I am not ).

Interesting concept when snaps and flatpacks take over, would it matter to have Fedora or Ubuntu ?

I cant belive I am telling you this but go use Vultr, even if the client wants amazon.

ANYDESK FOR THE WIN, works on Windows/MAC OS X/Linux

Nothing (easy)will work for mobile forget it. Unless you install app to stream the session via HTTP and connect to machine on that network and see what is happening.

Dont expect the mobile user to be able to root or install any apps outside of playstore

      Hi,

How do you check B2 Backup progress, I am using rclone check

Also, do you sync files or do you tar them first to save cost due to transaction calls? Then if you do this how you do you check that the Backups are good or you just the tar archive.

I'm tentatively moving into my replacement daily driver - a Fedora Cinnamon Spin flavoured PC. ScreenConnect was problematic until I found @JaredBusch 's post "How to run JNLP files on Fedora Cinnamon with Firefox"

Any love for Flatpak or are most sticking with the native DNF + repos?

I tried them but ended using snaps, wanted to install slack and had some issues under LXqt only snap behaved well.

Also this COPR addons are interesting:

      @JasGot

If you have the resources you need to experiment with Single Boards Computers, some of them runs Windows like LitePanda, but expensive at 200$.

I think using SBC stronger than the Pi3 good be good start like ASUS TinkerBoard, and see how many addons and software you can shove in those boards, but you really need resources and time for this.

Other than that you can can get one of those commerical solutions like IGEL

      Okular PDF
VMware Remote console, for folks that liked the old C# client
      Flux
      Atom IDE

Thanks for your suggestions I installed 2 of them, for snapshots and video capturing

It is not about LXQT or other things, it is about the best workstation platform. Regardless of the GUI.

So i thought we can list all the great apps that makes our like easier, and are supported in Fedora and makes it awesome.

Like Gigolo app if you liked WinSCP.. etc

Basically what do you do after fresh Fedora install and excluding dnf upgrade -y

      For the 29 LXQT Spin:

      1. You can automate login via /etc/sddm.conf

      2. Anydesk is good software for remote sessions with Windows users

      3. Remmina is amazing for RDP

      4. FilleZilla can be download if you want to have WinSCP alternative it also supports key file access, but you need to provide it in PPK format which is putty format.

    • Fedora Love

      Hi,

So I started a new job and they handed me an Ubuntu laptop, I was surprised by the balls of that company.

First 2 weeks I was shy and didn't want to change the OS cause I am new, and still seeing if they had any integration of some sort with the OS like with AD, but after while I was not performing, so I said let me be safe and use Windows 10.

The new position involved a lot of git and a lot of SSH, I tried my best to handle this with putty
kitty WinSCP, and they are good however they alter things and want SSH keys in their format, also GIT in Windows is a joke.

So I was stalling again, I wanted to go with Ubuntu cause the majority runs Ubuntu there, I want simple one and all the new light versions like Xubuntu and Lubuntu installs a ton of shit. I didn't like it, reminds me of Windows 10 from OEM.

So Fedora LXQT spin, and bam now I am working and performing like a machine.

I think we should pin this post and write all the good stuff on how to make latest Fedora more Awesome.

ahm.. ahm .. i know longer use Fedora LXQT as my daily work driver, I found Xubuntu Core (a certain VPN provider only provides .deb packages) and count not be any more happier, things work more on Ubuntu and wanted something usable and minimal and I loved this core project, maintained by XFCE developer.

      https://xubuntu.org/news/introducing-xubuntu-core/
      https://unit193.net/xubuntu/core/

That said Fedora LXQT was the best impressive battery saving OS, and also minimal I might reuse for one purpose machines, but Xubuntu 18.04 core is pretty darn stable and impressive

And while you are here and here, get fresh parsley and make tea out of it and cover the boiling so all the good stuff remains, I am not doing well lately, I think I have a leaky gut for the past 3 weeks.
