Does anyone use Linphone with TLS?, I'm having issues connecting with this softphone, no problems with Voiper though. Linphone puts in default account of which you cannot remove and other accounts are under proxy accounts.

Hey everyone, got an instance of Freepbx running on a dedicated server as a VM instance. all working well, I've just wondered are most people here just connecting endpoints(phones) using UDP/TCP or are they using TLS for connections. I know it would pretty hard for someone to intercept packets anyway using UDP/TCP but was just curious if people are using encryption?

      TLS for the SIP

Note, you ALWAYS want TLS on the SIP or else your extension credentials are flying out unencrypted every time the phone registers.

You mean SIP Trunk yeah? and not endpoints to pbx?

TLS for the SIP and SRTP is you want for the audio.

You have to be careful of LE certs with Yealink phones though.

Hi Jared, What issue is there using Letsencypt with these phones? I've created a new letsencypt certificate and currently using that.

They should of bit the bullet and dug up the uk streets years ago and just laid the fibre, instead BT have only put fibre to the cabinet at the end of the street....people want full fibre to the home now...not half copper and fibre....

The subsidies provided obviously weren't enough.

I have fibre to my house and it's great. . . and stupidly cheap as well.

Don't most US based homes have fibre direct to the premises? or do you have a mix of vdsl/adsl/fibre depending on state?

ha. . . maybe 1% of us homes have fibre to the house. I'm in that lucky percentage.

wow, didn't honestly know how it is out there!
      So most people on adsl??

      adsl or copper yeah.

And with our joke of a government it is likely to stay this way.

Crazy, the top grossing country in the world and your government is not even investing in it's infrastructure...you could probably pay for it tenfold if you didn't spend as much on your military lol..

We asked for a site to have a leased line. Was told there was no free capacity on the Exchange/Cab, and BT wanted just over £100K to install!!!!

We said no we an't paying for the Upgrade to give everyone Fibre !!!! you do it and we will sign up under normal conditions 🙂

Yeah it's funny how much BT used to charge for leased lines a few years ago for businesses, they have dropped down a lot thankfully now.

Wow. Copying free disks of zero value and go to jail. Only in America.

      Lesson... avoid Windows!!

Does seem pretty mad, he wasn't using cracked copies or using dodgy keys, seems completely waste of court time and waste of money, especially when there a lot more things to worry about in the U.S....
