@scottalanmiller Are you still having issues, or was it temporary?

Noticed that yesterday when I was in changing some settings on an account.
Handy feature.
Yeah, so far, the most amount of options available from a provider like this. (that I've found anyway)

RE: Linode Custom Distroposted in IT Discussion
I have 2 boxes on Vultr right now, and so far, I haven't heard any complaints yet. But I was concerned when @scottalanmiller mentioned he was having issues. I'd like to hear more and if he is still having issues.

Vultr new ISO Image library!posted in IT Discussion
Vultr now offers an ISO library. Previously, they offered a custom ISO upload feature, which by itself, is of course, awesome. Now, they offer a new feature called ISO library, which from what I can tell, has a lot of other "non VULTRized" ISOs. Examples: CentOS7 Minimal, FreePBX, Ubuntu 16.10, and many more. Announcement from December below.
Introducing the ISO Library
Dec 08, 2016Custom ISO users now have a new option for mounting ISOs - the ISO Library! The library is curated by our experienced team of system administrators and is updated periodically. Popular Linux and BSD distros are included, making installing a custom operating system on Vultr both quick and convenient.
You can also mount these ISOs directly from your existing Vultr cloud servers. Our Vultr Docs community includes a variety of useful guides that reference Custom ISOs, such as step-by-step tutorials on using rescue images to troubleshoot or customize instances. Save time spent uploading a Custom ISO and focus on what matters most - troubleshooting and getting your cloud servers back up and running quickly!
Need an ISO that isn't in the ISO Library? You can still take advantage of our powerful Custom ISO upload system for your new deployment!

Vultr and Rackspace. But FreePBX has a solid procedure for installing without the ISO, so Linode should be fine.
I thought I remember you saying recently that you guys had issues with PBXs on Vultr and were moving away from them. Am I remembering incorrectly?
Is there a reason why you don't have any PBXs on Linode yet? Is it just a timing thing?

Linode Custom Distroposted in IT Discussion
Don't get too excited from the title. The procedure doesn't look that easy/reproducible. I emailed Linode support and asked them if they had an easy process for custom distro setup, similar to one of their competitors (Vultr). They sent me to the site below.
I'd like to use them to see how a FreePBX box runs on Linode, but without an easy way to install the distro, I'm not sure if I'd use them for PBX installs.
What does everyone else use to host PBXs?

@scottalanmiller yeah, I tried rebooting and even re-building mist from scratch, but had the same result.

Attempted to get Mist.io installed on CentOS7 via the buildout procedure. Kept running into errors, so I installed Docker, then the Mist.io Docker image. That was painless. Next to add some servers to Mist to see what I can do!
Did you document what errors you came across while trying to install to CentOS?
Scott performed that install the other day (I think) and didn't announce any issues.
The build out seemed to go OK, but when attempting to start the service, I would get this error:
import error no module named sixGoogling mentioned that it has to do with python, and perhaps dependencies, but all dependencies were installed, as well as the specific python-six module.

@Romo I should find out soon enough. Just finished spinning up a new VM for this.

I'm curious what you can do with the "other server" option. I might just have to get this Installed to check it out.

RE: mist.io Product Supportposted in IT Discussion
@scottalanmiller I'm not sure. I was on a quest today to find and test some monitoring tools, and stumbled upon their website. I didn't get much further than that unfortunately.

Removing old files from Ubuntu because I'm out of space, and even the apt-get autoclean and apt-get autoremove will not work due to an out of space error.
Common story. There have been threads on that this past week. Welcome to Ubuntu.
Yeah, It's happened twice now in the past month to me. Number 1 was a plex install on Ubuntu, and this time, my XO VM. It's all fixed up now. I needed to remove space, because I couldn't even issue an lvextend command due to the out of space error.

Just installed a Snom PA-1 and paging horn in a garage. That thing is LOUD.
What is the point of a PA horn in the garage?
It is a garage/workshop area that is very loud with machinery. They couldn't hear the phone ringing. Now they can.

@fuznutz04 I was just telling Scott i love Snom
Yeah, the setup is so simple on the PA-1. There are like 4 settings to change to set it up for use with a paging horn. Not to mention it's a nice looking, sturdy device.

@Danp said in Verizon Adds Unlimited Data (again) with restrictions:
@DustinB3403 Actually, I believe you get 10GB / line of hotspot usage.
Is that true? I would like unlimited, but certainly not if the tradeoff is that I can't tether. Tethering to my laptop is critical in some scenarios.
