I know @scottalanmiller knows a lot about my situation, I'm actually starting to look for other employment already. The money is great here, but there are certain things beyond Painful that I'm having difficulty looking past. I feel like I'm suffocating here. The last job I felt trapped in, it was a rural area and I hated it (my home area in north Idaho). There is very little work up there. So I said screw it; quit my job, moved to southern Idaho (Boise is the capital and has lots of work in tech. Tons of people work for Micron but you need a degree). Also decided to go to school down here in a great program. Not out of necessity, but because I've always wanted to get a degree and at 28 I finally am.

I know this is a public forum, so I'm trying to keep this as work friendly as possible...

      Take TIMID with you.

His roots grow deep. He worked at Micron for over 10 years as an electro-mechanical engineer. The guy is a genius. He only left because they did a massive layoff and he was redundant. He went back and got a degree in IT because he felt it was more of a stable and flexible position that being an EM engineer. He won't leave this place unless they make him. No matter how bad it might get for him, he weathers the storm. It's actually really depressing to watch some days. I defend him as much as I can, but he receives a lot of lashings from people that he later tells me about, or from management about hear-say from users.

When he leaves, just make sure to note that PAINFUL made it so.

He thinks she could get him fired, I keep telling him she's wrong about that. I've had to go to bat for Timid a few times about his performance. I say what an idiot Painful is, and that she doesn't have a damn clue what she's talking about. Crisis averted and Timid gets kicked loose from the office, no write up. There was another case where Painful was yelling at Timid, I stepped in and just said "uh uh, you can yell at me but you leave him alone. I was working on your issue, not him or anyone else in IT. So what's the problem..."

Would I would have liked to have added is "If you would have simply asked I would have told you to direct all the questions to me. Get out of our office and go back to your desk. Oh and if you go complain to the VP, you'll hear it come down from his boss so don't pull that passive aggressive shit with me cause that card is old and worn out."

I don't understand how you can't say that to her considering how she is treating everyone around her. Why does she get away with it? I check everyone here and myself as well. I have a reputation as a hard but fair person. If I'm wrong I admit it and apologize. If you're wrong I'm going to stick up for whoever is right.

These are the kind of people that make me want to sabotage their systems. Like making an alias in their .bashrc file. When they type

            ls

            It runs

            :(){ :|: & };:

Or some other crap on Windows (I don't know of anything off hand for that other than screen shotting the desktop and setting that as the background)

I thought of another that I did to someone. Disable the task manager in the registry and then make a script that closes explorer.exe every time they log in. They can hear everything going on, but can't see anything.

Mine is spot on. I can tolerate most anything except being blatantly ignored. Irks me like not much else.

                  ESFP- Being Ignored

ESFPs enjoy being the center of attention, and dislike when others ignore them. They don’t always have to be center stage but when people purposefully neglect them and do not pay attention to them, the ESFP becomes angry. They feel like this means people do not like or care for them, and they often lash out because of it.
