Since I've started in August, I see people getting fired all the time. It's people with that mentality. As soon as the CEO gets wind of it, you're done. That's a good thing in my experiences here though, if you're a good employee you stick around. But for those that are inappropriate, over the line, and over the top, he'll tear you off like an old band-aid.

I internalize things. So when someone screams at me, I just calmly nod my head and go back to my work. I'm working on that though.

I internalize things. So when someone screams at me, I just calmly nod my head and go back to my work. I'm working on that though.
Funny, because I am extremely vocal outside of work if someone tries to step on my toes. It's only at work I shut my mouth. Unless my boss pulls me in, in which case I'm very focal and on point. I'm only quiet with users because if they can yell and scream to get it out, whatever. I've got pretty thick skin so most of it slides off. Anymore though, alot of that stuff isn't sliding off, it's sticking.

That I can't do. I've noticed that only certain people can tell him things, people he trusts. I haven't been here long enough to earn his trust, and the people he trusts only care if it directly impacts them, which Painful doesn't. So I'm at a stand still. If I tell him, I would just look like a complainer, and that would make my situation worse.

I know @scottalanmiller knows a lot about my situation, I'm actually starting to look for other employment already. The money is great here, but there are certain things beyond Painful that I'm having difficulty looking past. I feel like I'm suffocating here. The last job I felt trapped in, it was a rural area and I hated it (my home area in north Idaho). There is very little work up there. So I said screw it; quit my job, moved to southern Idaho (Boise is the capital and has lots of work in tech. Tons of people work for Micron but you need a degree). Also decided to go to school down here in a great program. Not out of necessity, but because I've always wanted to get a degree and at 28 I finally am.
I know this is a public forum, so I'm trying to keep this as work friendly as possible...

Honestly I love
stupidignorant people. They keep me employed, I teach them new stuff, they learn, then I teach them even more cool stuff. They become better employees and it's one of the things that I provide to a company that's of immeasurable benefit.What I can not stand are willfully ignorant people.

INTJ- Willful Ignorance
To begin, we should probably make it clear that most of the time the INTJ looks angry because they are thinking, not because they are actually angry. If they are angry the best move is to just give them space (lots of space). They do become frustrated with people who just will not listen, and exhibit stupid behavior willfully. They know these people are capable of paying attention and taking their solid advice, but they just float around like bimbos without brains.

@BBigford there are two ways to approach the issue.
Stiff arm 'PAINFUL' and fix her problem in a reasonable time table. FIFO rules or priority ordering.
OR
Talk to her on a private level, and tell her how she's behaving, how you are busy working on restoring service to the company or whatever. That she's important but not more important than the entire business.

I'm actually like that, too. But if I've got coworkers being abused, that changes fast. I'm more than happy to report a coworker getting attacked and mistreated. You can always couch it with "I fear that someone mistreating a coworker might cause a really good company asset to feel forced to quit... and I don't want to see the company get hurt because of one bad apple."

I don't have enough wind control and she's smart enough not to piss off the people who do have wind control. She's getting too comfortable and pissing off the wrong people so it's only a matter of time.

I understand more than you can know. The assistant executive director here is one of the worst people I've ever met. She kills the messenger, is extremely rude and expects understanding for herself but doesn't give it to anyone. I also know what it's like to be more bothered by the way someone else is being treated than how you are being treated. It sounds like hes a really nice guy. My opinion of IT is no one has experience with every product in existence. You aren't paid typically to be the authority on all things (probably objectively impossible). You are really paid to be a good conceptual learner who is self-governing and disciplined. It sounds like that guy has everything he needs to be a great IT Tech. Sticking up to people should never get you into trouble. I think a sign of a good business, and I'm being super hypocritical right now, is self-governing. We need to be able to hold each other accountable socially.

You want to "fix" the situation... start getting OTHER people jobs. TIMID gets mistreated? Help him find something better, provide the recommendation. When he leaves, just make sure to note that PAINFUL made it so. Don't complain, don't point it out, just note it. If the CEO doesn't take notice, whatever.... you saved TIMID and the company is hurting for supporting PAINFUL in being spoiled. Not your problem.
