Of which my immediate thought it, why didn't "you" do your research on this projector to understand how it works...

"oh you just download this app and it connects to the projector"

Really, you mean the iProjector app, the one for mobile devices.. yeah that's real useful for a laptop. (@scottalanmiller it's not, that is sarcasm)

The main device being used to project from our conference rooms..... 99.99% of the time.

"Can we have them connect wirelessly to the projector and still be the corporate wifi?" Um no..... you'd need two wireless NICs.

"Ok well research how we can do that"... FML I just told "you"

"So I just bought this projector and it supports wireless projecting, how can we have it so that our employees can connect to this Projector SSID and still have access to the network shares?"

            .....

            FML

Better question... Why did THEY buy the projector instead of going through IT ?

Is your boss really IT? Now put on your Scott hat before you answer that question.

Now I get to research a solution that allows the projector to connect to our corporate wifi using WPA2-Enterprise and RADIUS Authentication to find a solution to this....

                    "Would bluetooth work"

The stupid is strong with your boss. Now, can you make the wireless signal go into this phone cable looking plug on the projector?

So how does connecting over WiFi allow a laptop so share the projector? Wouldn't you still have to install an App?

If no, can't the projector join your local network?

I have seen projectors with built in APs that will connect you to your corporate network... Just wire in an ethernet cable to the projector and it works that way. I never got to use them though.

I don't even know where to start with this, honestly.

This isn't my thing, I don't give a damn about projectors. Ohhh we want wireless projection.... Um ok..... why though?

Most of the ones I am actually familiar with do require the app. Some of them will allow you to be on the wired network and project to them as well.

You do have to install an app, which searches the network for any projectors on that lan, and then it connects.

Yea, expect this unit doesn't have a Ethernet port, pure WiFi.

Which is can broadcast it's own Wireless signal.

Which this unit would work, if it had a damn ethernet port.

But since it doesn't support WPA2-Ent and RADIUS it's stuck on our Guest network..

So it's useless for the purpose.

                                          worthwhile projectors are just expensive!!!
We've been suffering with a SVGA one here for years.

@Dashrender I've always wondered how expensive the old SGI meeting rooms were to equip.
