Switching from Hotmail to Gmail
-
I'm doing it. I've used Hotmail (aka Live.com) for nearly 20 years for my personal e-mail but I've fallen out of love with Microsoft lately. Too many problems. I'm going all in with Google.
The only downside is my Gmail username isn't as good as my Hotmail one which annoys me, so I'm going to have to use a custom domain, which means I'm going to have to pay for Google Apps. But it's pretty cheap, so no problem. I already have a custom domain with a Microsoft O365 account, and I'm cancelling that, so I won't be out of pocket.

not as good
?I suppose I should do something about my GMail account(s).... I only have Seven..

My Hotmail address is just my name, but someone has already used my name for Gmail, so I had to use my middle initial as well. So instead of [email protected] it's [email protected]. Very annoying as as far as I'm aware there's only one other person in the world with the same name as me.

I have my personal domain on google apps. It has been there so long that it is a grandfathered free account. I should take more advantage of that.
