Uhm, totally forgot HOW oldscool that game actually is
It was so innovative at the time in RTS controls, but now it is the norm. I loved how you could select all units of a given type, no matter where they were on the map, drop them into a control group, and send them on their suicidal way.
Yeah. Native support for high widescreen resolutions, innovative controls.... Wasn't there even some multi monitor mode with the map running on the second screen?
Oh, I'd forgotten about multi monitor support.

Loved Titan Quest

Seems that GTA V with the latest update has finally gotten rid of the cheaters/modders. Anyone here still playing it?
Got a bit hooked during the last weeks, and buying it on kinguin it should be quite cheap by now.Other than that I will probably always be in love with Age of Empires, particularly AOE III still has a reasonable amount of players should you care about RTS.

Still playing from time to time, I want the new Company stuff to be available in private sessions though...

An online friend of mine just posted https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pk6eAS2kONk a couple days ago. I've watched it a couple times now and I keep laughing about her reactions. I hope you guys like it. She plays on our server along with Rai, Shayne's son, and I. @Nic has logged in, too, though he seems to be short on time or impetus to play.

Finally got Mass Effect, the original, working on Steam. Playing that this weekend.
-
ran CPUID hw monitor during a 3 hour GTA session - 1080, High settings, locked to 60fps with an EVGA GTX 960 SSC. CPU temps maxed at 57 degrees C and GPU at 75 degrees C (with fans @30% power) - not bad!

Which GTA?
-
@scottalanmiller 5 online

I never play online, I play offline with mods
Would love a private multiplayer separate to the rockstar servers but their legal team keep shutting down those projects rapidly.

Time to set up the new NVidia Shield TV. I'm a bit excited.

Thus far it doesn't even work. It has major bugs around the wifi interface and thus far, it's a brick.

Well that sucks.

I'm somehow unsure about Grim Dawn. It's a nice oldschool game, much like Titan Quest (ha, guess why!), but it seems to lack something. Can't say what, I just don't know yet.
And balancing isn't good at all, my very first build is way overpowered. Didn't upgrade my equip for the last 8 levels and now it's getting just a bit harder.
-
@thwr idk what it is but I can't play hack n slash games anymore. There's just nothing to them
-
@wirestyle22 Don't you remember all the long hot summer nights playing endless hours of D1 and D2?

Okay, after a reboot things have started to work, maybe. Still testing.

@thwr Totally. I'm like a game snob though. I started playing indie games and I just don't see the merit of these big games anymore. They aren't interesting or testing boundaries or anything. It's sad.

I'm sure I've already
but I'm powering on anyway.Roberts Space Industries, if you don't know who is pushing this one, then you've lost your gaming card. (Seriously, Chris Roberts was the one who did the Wing Commander and Freelancer series.) I gave them more money than I thought I had last time I looked at my total, and I still don't mind.
They've just released the first public (pre-Alpha at this point) persistence. They currently have space combat, station landing, FPS, and a mission system in place. They're also working on a single player campaign that you won't need an internet connection to play.
They're going to have everything they can possible do in the game, because it was completely crowd funded and looks like it will continue to raise enough money to continue development well beyond release.
This thing is MASSIVE, but only in the very beginning stages still. They're also pushing the computer hardware harder than anyone. My gaming machine at home with an i7-3770, AMD 980 2GB, and 32GB RAM has trouble keeping up (tho I'm hoping that's more a networking optimization issue, will see.)
I agree that most companies are not really pushing the capabilities today's computers offer. This Star Citizen looks to be different, and Chris Roberts has a long history of successfully pushing the limits of a computers processing power.
