BlackBerry Messenger stucks at setting up.
-
Hi Everyone, I'm trying to set up the BlackBerry Messenger but it takes forever.
I tried to delete the application and set up again but still not able to set up. It's still stuck at setting up -
What are you installing it on?
-
I (happily) know nothing about anything BlackBerry related.
-
Same here. Know nothing about BlackBerry.

I guess I'm just surprised it didn't come pre-installed.
No kidding!

I'm not sure if it's already pre installed, but when they handed me this phone BBM was already installed. Now I'm trying to set up the app and it takes forever

What's there to setup? Isn't it just like every other centrally managed messenger product on the market, i.e. Skype google hangouts, AIM?
When we had BBs years ago, there was no setup, other than creating an account which was tied to the phone number.

Yes it was just like skype and other messenger. But this once after I input the username and password it looks like this.

I think the top line is the answer to your problem, no service. I don't think you can set it up/connect to it unless you have either WiFi or Cellular data.
Do you have confirmed WiFi data?
-
Can you add the config from the BES server?
EDIT: probably best to try your connection first, as @Dashrender suggested -

Edit -Sorry I grab that pic on the Internet.

It was connected to Wifi-You have internet access on the BB, correct? Make sure you are able to load some websites

Apparently this is a very common problem with BlackBerry devices. A google search shows alot of people having the same issue. It's no wonder that hardly anybody uses BB devices anymore.

Also is the device software up to date? When I googled the issues, most of the dates were 2013 and early 2014. Maybe a software update has fixed the issue.
