I used good and bad versions of most manufacturers hardware of various types. I would never be so closed minded to rate all Sony TV's good or bad based on one experience like this.
Also: This thread is about a phone with a 4k display.

Nor did I, I would not make the assumption from stating that the one I used was horrible that I meant that all were horrible. You state this as if you feel that I did this, I feel. I realize that you only made a strong statement about how you would not read too much into that, but you positioned it in such a way that I think most people would read into it that you felt that I had done the thing that you were stating that you would not do.
Note: I was responding to the comment about Sony televisions AND while this is a phone it is ALSO a 4K display making their display situation relevant especially as the issues were around quality and interface which would transcend simple product categorization.

The type of issues that it had were the type likely to be seen more broadly with bad interface design that likely is in firmware. It would be surprising to find Sony not sharing firmware and interface across products.

I'm going to have to go with @JaredBusch on this one, @scottalanmiller, while you might not have intended to disparage all Sony TV's I definitely read your comment to mean you'd probably never look at Sony's again, just like you read his comment to the same.
