Coronavirus: Passengers leave Diamond Princess amid criticism of Japan
Hundreds of passengers who tested negative for the new coronavirus have begun leaving a quarantined cruise ship in Japan amid heavy criticism over the country's handling of the outbreak.
One Japanese health expert who visited the Diamond Princess at the port in Yokohama said the situation on board was "completely chaotic". US officials said moves to contain the virus "may not have been sufficient". Passengers have described the difficult quarantine situation on the vessel. At least 542 passengers and crew on the Diamond Princess have so far been infected by the Covid-19 virus - the biggest cluster outside mainland China. The ship was carrying 3,700 people in total. -
Hanau shooting: Eight dead after two attacks in Germany
Eight people are dead following two shootings at shisha bars in the western German city of Hanau.
At least five people were injured after gunmen opened fire at about 22:00 local time (21:00 GMT), police told the BBC. Police added that they are searching for the suspects, who fled the scene and are currently at large. The first shooting was at a bar in the city centre, while the second was in Hanau's Kesselstadt neighbourhood, according to local reports. Police officers and helicopters are patrolling both areas. -
Coronavirus: Two passengers dead from quarantined Diamond Princess
Two Japanese passengers who contracted the new coronavirus on board a cruise ship quarantined in Japan have died, officials say.
Both were in their 80s with underlying health conditions. They were being treated in hospitals after being taken off the Diamond Princess last week. At least 621 people on the ship tested positive for the virus, named Covid-19, the biggest cluster outside China. The coronavirus, which originated in China's Hubei province last year, causes pneumonia-like symptoms. Overall, there have now been 2,118 deaths and nearly 75,000 confirmed infections recorded in mainland China. On Thursday, South Korea confirmed its first coronavirus death. Japan's neighbour also reported a sharp rise in virus cases, most of them from a newly identified cluster at a large religious community. -

He murdered someone.
Now he's up to at least 3 people.

Yeah, but there is bad murdering someone (killing someone innocent) and there is good murdering someone (protecting society or serving justice) and then there is not murdering someone (convicted falsely.)
So far, knowing what we know about him now, it's suggestive that there is at least a decent chance that his original murder wasn't such a bad thing. We know nothing about it.

I'd rather not get into the dregs of figuring out when it's "okay to murder."

Well, here's a good rule of thumb: It's always ok to kill child molesters, politicians, and ticket scalpers.

Not just "ok", but I think you get a bonus from this. Like it is "ok" to kill in self defense, that's a neutral. But killing a child molester is a "good" and killing a child trafficker is an "excellent". He should get "offset credits" to other crimes based on those.

Also the crazy amount of money saved by having two less life-long prisoners.

Which is about $2.8 million per prisoner for 35 years, or about $81k per year. (in California) (if the cost doesn't increase every year, which it does)

Are you saying this is expensive or cheap?

Brazil: Murder rate spikes in CearΓ‘ state as police strike
The authorities in Brazil say 147 people have been murdered in the north-eastern state of CearΓ‘ in the first five days of a military police strike.
The homicide rate is five times higher than usual, despite the deployment of the army to patrol the streets. The violence has led to the cancellation of carnival festivities in several cities at what is the height of the summer holiday season. The police began their strike on 19 February, demanding a pay rise.
