Built their entire network, soup to nuts, on openSuse. Servers, storage, backup, desktops, PBX you name it. It was awesome experience.
When you're jobless, or super flexible part time worker, this type of thing might be possible, as a 30 something with a full time job, that's near impossible because the School is going to need this done quickly... plus followup support, granted you might not provide that.
Especially considering I have 3 hours of commuting every day minimum. I-195 E is a nightmare at 5:00 PM. It definitely would be a great learning experience though if it were possible.
Not the RI-MA 195, right?

You think it's bad driving a car in that, I used to drive a semi in that nightmare. Jersey City is the absolute worst. 55mph road with a city sidewalk beside it, it's a wonder people weren't sucked under trailer tandems on that road, because you're a slow moving road hazard at 55. I've got even more about Jersey City, but I'd rather here about @MattSpeller's fishing.

It's not terrible. But you can get some decent quality stuff there for ok prices sometimes. I snagged an anniversary present for my wife there last year.
