Any recommendation for markdown support in Wordpress
-
Since I spun up a WP instance for myselff again, I was looking at syntax stuff.
Markdown is really my preference anymore, but a fast search of WordPress plugins does not return anything obviously worth it.
So before trying various things out, I figured I would ask for a recommendation.
I'm not too worried about code highlighting or syntax recognition. But those are a nice bonus.

I used the generic WordPress.com and they had markdown built into the wysiwyg editor (if I remember right) but it kind of sucked.
I gave up on it and switched to what I'm doing now. I never found anything good, but again it was their hosted not something I was running.

I'm not using markdown editing in WP (wish I could), but I am using the classic style, because it just integrates so much better with other plugins such as Yoast and Enlighter. The editing experience is better IMO than the default.

@Obsolesce Yeah, no.

+1
That's what I've been using for everything. My blog is still WP, but only because I don't have the time to convert it yet.

I looked at Hugo, but something about it annoyed me. I'll have to spin it up again to know what it was.

It was in this thread.
Likely the bad theme I chose at random skewed my feelings with it.

Okay giving it another go with Hugo

Yeah I agree with that

What about using Ghost? I started with it before moving to Wordpress. It is completely markdown if I remember right. I liked it but didn't feel the plugin availability was there.
