Receipt Logs for Office 365 Emails
-
We want to check Office 365 emails for a given date range and see if email was received from a specific email address (to any mailbox.) I am not aware of a way to do this under normal circumstances. Does anyone know if or how this can be achieved?

Office 365 with powershell should be able to query the system for this. I've done searches similar to this before, but only for emails coming from a specific source.

Email trace in https://protection.office.com/#/messagetrace
-
Get-MessageTrace
can give you 5 minutes - 10 days of results. Otherwise, you have to use the GUI in the Exchange Admin Center in Office 365. I think you can do traces up to 3 months back. You submit the trace request and get results in a few hours to a day. -
The new Security and Compliance Center can do this really easily. Just make a new content search.

@coliver This is done whenever MS feels like it, yes? I mean, you may not get the results for a while.

Nope it's done whenever you submit the search. It's stupid powerful. I do one at least once a week and never have had to wait more then a few minutes.

Yep, that’s my experience as well.
