Are you a heavy drinker? You'd be surprised
-
Definition of heavy drinking varies slightly and is different for men and women
Heavy drinking is defined as 8 or more drinks a week for women, 15 or more for men
Heavy drinking is the third leading cause of preventable deathhttp://edition.cnn.com/2014/06/26/health/heavy-drinking-definition/index.html?hpt=hp_c4

Interesting. That's much heavier than normal people think it will be. It's also important to note that while heavy drinking is bad, studies have recently shown that no drinking at all is actually worse. The best is a happy medium, of course.

I drink an average of less than one beer a night on weeks when I do not go out with anyone or anywhere.
Some nights I'll have none, some I'll have 1 and rarely i'll have two.
On D&D night (every other Friday), I usually bring 6 with me and drink 3 or 4 depending on how I feel and how long we actually play. -
Yes, yes I am. Thank you very much.
-
I don't think I have 8 drinks every 6 months. Does that make me a wussy? Lol

Correction, I see it's 8 for women. I'll say 15 every 6 months.

@Joyfano Why do people feel the incessant need to drink? I don't understand it. I honestly don't care for the flavor of alcohol. Is that such a sin?

And I don't have a problem with people who need that. I just don't. Drinking does nothing but make me sweat...if someone needs it for whatever reason, fine. I could, to be honest, go the rest of my life without drinking and be perfectly content.

Then don't drink if you don't like it..
haha -
@ajstringham The problem is you are pushing your attitude on other in a simple conversation, after leaving a wide open shot by asking ON THE INTERNET "Does that make me a wussy?"
You seem offended when someone does the obvious and says yes. Grow up.

it seems you're making conflict where there was none.

I have 2 maybe three a YEAR...if at all. Just don't think about having a drink most days...
-
I'm not upset. Sorry if it sounds like I am. Just saying what I said FWIW.
-
I have a glass of wine every night with my evening meal at around six. Then a pint of beer at eight. Possibly a bourbon before bed. I go out rarely these days, maybe once a fortnight, but when I do it's never more than four pints of beer. I'm at the limit of what the UK government recommends, but there seems to be very little evidence that what some people call "heavy drinking" actually shortens life. And it certainly makes life more bearable!
I'm drinking more (and working less) at the moment because we're having an unusually warm and sunny summer here in England and warm weather + cold lager + garden = heaven.
