Almost forgot about this thread. I think it's time to upgrade now! Although the 8 and X don't really impress me. Maybe I'll go for the 7 plus.

I am not holding my breath for sd card capability.

The iPhone X seems decent. I think this is the very first iPhone I wouldn't mind having. It took them what, like 17 or 18 tries to finally make something decent.
But the cost of it... paying over $1300 for a phone is just plain stupid. Maybe for rich CEOs and Execs that like to flaunt their worth, and poor people who like to spend all their money on crap like that... but you get my point.
I'm still drawn to the Asus Zenfone 4 Pro. It's better than half the price, and better hardware imho. Not as many little features, but IT'S $600 or less vs $1300+!!

True story! No way am I paying that for a cell phone. You can get a great laptop for that price.

If you're already a consumer of Amazon's services, you can get a Moto 5 Plus for a pretty reasonable price. It isn't a flagship phone, but it does everything I need it to, and at a price I can afford to replace (if it gets broken). I really like what Moto is doing with their software on the main button on the phone. It is a fingerprint reader like so many others, but if you set it up you can use it as a home button, a la iPhone. If you swipe left it goes back, if you swipe right it opens your app switcher, and if you do a long press it locks your phone. They've also used the gyro scope to give you easy access to things like the flashlight (two chopping motions), camera (twist your wrist while holding the phone), etc.

I am all about the Apple Eco system for TMQ but I think this one is nuts.

I think that time is over on the major phones.

Is the 256 GB iPhone X $1300? The 64 GB is only $999

All the major phones let you add a micro SD card, but not Apple. Galaxy Note 8, much better than iPhone X, allows you to add one. (plus it's hundreds cheaper, but still close to $1k)

The 256 GB version is $1,150, plus AppleCare+ $200, plus taxes is about a total of $1,450.

Yeah paying that much for a phone is crazy but can you blame Apple for people willing to buy it? I do like how the other competitors will give customers so many feature and still keep the price down.

I wouldn't call it a backpeddle. Why would you buy a phone with 64GB of storage, without the ability to add more? I know people (including myself) that goes over that on phones. It would be horrible to not be able to add more via a good micro SD card. In fact, I would not even purchase a phone that either didn't come with at least 256+ GB of onboard storage THIS YEAR and didn't have an option to add more. That's why I don't see the 64GB iPhone X as a usable option, but the bigger one is (not considering the price).
-
Now if they removed the ability to add a micro SD card, but provided enough on-board storage for the times we live in (256GB+ in 2017), then sure... no need for a micro SD card.
-
I'm currently using a 64 GB iPhone, Started in June. and yeah it's full already - mostly of pictures, but some videos and podcasts too. that said, the iPhone has never had expansion.

I have the 128GB iPhone 7+, but I think Asus will be my next phone (and watch.)
