Deduplication software

Are you wanting to actually remove the duplicates, or just list them? I know of a few software options that will find and list all of your duplicate files for you (and work to manage them) but they are all memory intensive.

Either one. He just wants to be able to consolidate his data (pics, etc). Listing the duplicates will probably be enough since he will have time to go through and delete stuff while he is out of town.

The best software for this is -> DoubleKiller

Its interface is old but it gets the job done quickly and accurately.

The end user has to be able to use it and easily delete any duplicates.
Oh and Windows. .

I have used this on Windows in the past.
Even bought it at a client that had severe duplication issues on some shared drives.
