Not reading anything but the headline, all I could think was "duh".

That’s not remotely the end of the process: if it’s approved, the resolution will go to the House, and if it passes there,
the desk of Donald Trump, who seems unlikely to approve it.

Won't do much for his popularity. Personal liberties are generally a major thing for his constituents.

But it's being spin as against personal liberties so they'll be for it because there majority don't often do any research.

TLDR: ISPs will be bashing each other and using NN to justify charging you more for less...
Yesterday I called WOW cable to renegotiate my internet service as my contract promotional period had expired. Comcast was offering 100/15 for $44.99, I was currently paying $55 for 30/5. After getting past the initial sales person, I'm on with retention... I explain to them what Comcast was offering, so she repeats some garbage offer which still isn't even close to Comcast. So when I repeat that it's not even close, she brings up NN and reassures me how serious WOW is about an unregulated internet and how terrible Comcast will be, and that WOW's 60Mbps service would likely be better than Comcast's 100Mbps service because we all know they'll be throttling everything they can. I ended up with 100Mbps from them for $39.99/month.

She has a point - and I do fully expect to pay a higher price because of it as long as NN isn't a law.

I don't want to sound surprised, so meh.
Anyone who took 15 minutes to look at the options could've came up with this information.

For profit vs non profit, yet there is still enough money left over in the charges for municipality ISP to pay for other city services, according to the article.

That is an update to commenters questions, not an official part of the article. Although it would be interesting to see that information (if it exists in the data set)

In a surprise twist AT&T calls on lawmakers to draft and pass an Internet Bill of Rights for Consumers.
-
They are going to write the law to benefit themselves, get it sponsored by shitbags in the House and Senate, it passes, everybody loses except ATT CMCSA VZW.
Most laws passed by congress are now written by lawyers from corporations or lobbyist and then sponsored by congresspeople.
