I would love that. The ISPs should be at the border to a municipality, not inside it. Similar to how power can from from any number of power companies (the grid is all interconnected).
As for phones - I'd just like to see them die! Move everything to app based. I think one of the biggest push backs you get is from the safety side of things.
If your power is out, it's still possible (and likely) that your copper landline is still working.
That is not the case if you have phone service by cable, etc. -

I know Altigen and a lot of people have tried pushing those desk phones that are just a base for a mobile phone, but they have never taken off and I assume its because they must not work well.
All the E-911 stuff is their with mobile. Even in the UCC apps I have been using (in case someone dialed 911 there instead of via their own phone).

Nothing says you can't have a hardware phone connected to say - skype or What's App or Facetime, etc. It would be no different than a VOIP phone connecting to the services you sell today.
A great device will allow you to install any android app onto it to integrate with any IM/voice solution. Instead of the bluetooth headset today, you'd just use the handset on the phone.

I'm guessing people don't like the idea of plugging their mobile into the phone to make it work. That combined with the often high price of VOIP type phones compared to typical home POTS line phones - people haven't bought into it yet.

This is only Netflix... not all streaming.. That must have been what I saw was north of 70%, all video streaming constitutes more than 70% of peak traffic.

I don't want that either - that's still totally reliant upon the strangle hold the phone companies have with the phone numbers. Plus I love the idea of decentralized communication.
We could use VOIP with something like Email or DomainName based connections, allowing PBXs to all talk direct over the internet to each other... Of course we talked about that the other day, and the issue with spam, but I have spam problems already, I don't know that it would be worse than it is today. Heck, one thing we'd be rid of is the cost of call - long distance would be dead, so having your PBX hacked resulting in huge phone bills because of the use of the LEC would be gone ( still bad to have your PBX hacked though).

That’s what the domain based alias was for the signal.org I was doing.
Open and secured voice and messaging based on DNS, using VoLGA to carry and provide reliable voice quality.
Then can the tower thing, which crushed my life saving...

It is for voice/voice application access over network API's, so that you can deliver guaranteed VOIP over a carrier network. So if I want to deliver reliable voice and E911 to a data only device, GAN (or truly VOLGA or UMA) provides me as an independent voice app provider the ability to do that.
If not carrier towers then what would you prefer?

Also noticing Spectrum in my area is suddenly upgrading speeds to 200mb and even 400mb x 20mb for free! Just over the past week.
My dad got that UBNT Amplifi unit and the speedtest kept saying 200mb, so he thought it was wrong.
This all immediately following Net Neutrality bill? Whats the catch?

Assuming I read it right, GAN is about the phone connecting over the internet.
