I'm on season two of The Expanse and it's finally really grabbed my attention.
I mean season one was OK - but definitely not the best SciFi out there. I suppose if hard science type stuff is more important to you, then perhaps - as the show seems to mostly build upon our current tech levels, and rarely makes leaps of technology magic (the cellphones are an obvious exception).
I do feel they glossing over the whole - time it takes to get places though. even at 1 G, the minimum time to get to Mars from earth is 3 days, yet the show seems to make that happen in mere hours of store time, yet - they talk about the time delay in receiving signals from one to the other.
Meh - it's SciFi.
It took about 5 episodes into the first season to grab my attention. It held it since, so if your grabbed now, it will continue.
I have a few issues with all of SciFi, especially around communications. I love it when space travel takes months to go "small" distances but they are able to have full real-time hologram conference calls across galaxies. Its TV, so I get over it. LOL
I though SG-1/Universe solved the transgalactic communication thing pretty well - at least they fit it inside their canon, communication stones.

I like to consider myself a ray of reality. The movie was totally panned, along with the rest of the recent piles of crap that has been released under that title.

Hey, I found a happy place. I figured out that the Disney Wars were actively making me upset every time I saw one. I found them to be insulting and pandering and made by people who had to absolutely hate the original Star Wars and wanted to tarnish its legacy, and had to hate their audiences and wanted to mock them. That that crap exists in the world is a given. Getting to a point that I could walk away and no longer be swayed by Disney's marketing team and free myself of the shackles of that crap is a big deal. Marketers use strong emotional tools to make you keep coming back even when you know they don't care and that you want be happy. But we got over it and are free. So yes, actually rays of sunshine.

i've heard mixed reviews on all of the movies; Do i understand what you're saying Yes. I agree with you, but I still want to see this movie ; As again I've heard mixed reviews most of which were good reviews so.

Yeah, but you've seen the other movies leading up to it, right? I don't need the reviews that say this is the worst SW movie ever made to tell me that it will make me sad and upset. That it is staggeringly worse and more insulting than any other ever made is a bit surprising considering just how bad so many have been, but I don't need a review for any of that.

interesting.. It's Fair yet Bold to say It's not the same people writing and producing the new movies to the original Saga.
Had they have just created a new Saga all together and left the master piece we all know alone; It'd be much better, that saga would have ended with Luke reuniting with his father and turning him to the Light Side.
The new Saga could have been Way better. In the fact that it would be Disney's own. Would have no Tie to the Original Saga, and could go in any direction they actually wanted it to .Which It's rumored Disney is already writing and getting ready to film a New Star Wars Saga starting 2021..Something to keep in mind : The "new" star wars is not made for "us" the original fans. this is to close out the saga, tie up lose ends and pave way for the new saga to begin. . . Somethings I'll agree - Horrible. Seeing the same movies over and over again after the original 3 ; Force Awakens was New Hope with out a single doubt in my mind they copied the exact same Idea.

You only need to tie it up for "us", the old fans. lol

It would have been SO much better without using the Star Wars IP.

only those who care about the Original Triology want/need/care about things being tied up.
young people don't because they aren't invested in the OT.

Star Wars was done for the old people. It was wrapped up. Disney "re-opened it" just to spite us. The kids didn't need Star Wars IP used, they didn't like it. The old people didn't need it ruined. Disney seems to have done it out of an abject hatred for the old fan base.

They did it as a money grab, not hatred.
