I don't apparently know any of this lore either - I mostly know the movies, and what I can remember from the 80's cartoons - I've never like comicbooks themselves, just not my thing... so I don't know much of this lore.You do not need to know anything outside of the movies if you pay attention to all of them. I have not read Marvel comics since the 90's. I was also more of an X-Men reader than Avengers.

Tony Stark is, imo, one of the best characters in movie story telling.

I actually can't wait for the Jane Foster movie to come out. They made her useless in the movies but her storyline in the comics is actually amazing.
