Christmas is over, did anybody get anything cool?
After I got rid of my beloved Pebble before it stopped working due to the FitBit buy out, my lovely wife and daughter presented me with a new Apple watch.

Yeah, a smart watch is not a must have, but once you get used to one, it sucks going with out.

Agreed. I had a GEAR watch a while back and I'm not sure where it went when I moved. I miss that thing.

Replaced my 12-year old 42" 1080i LG plasma with a 55" 4k LCD LG. I knew about that one. What I didn't know about was the Yamaha 5.1 Home Theater system from the Dad-in-law. I was in geek heaven for a little while. Then discovered that my Home Assistant conveniently interfaces with the Home Theater system. Added bonus. Plus, the CEC kicks in. So now, I can turn on at least the TV and theater system at once with my phone and home assistant.
Now, just need some wifi-enabled RGB LED lightbulbs to begin creating scenes.

Laura bought me a Wacom tablet. Brother in law got me Norm Macdonalds book. Can't wait to read it.

Yeah. Art, Music, Books, etc. I'm going to use it all to make my own video game. I'm in the process of writing the narrative. The next step will be drawing the characters and then making the pixel art/sprite versions of them. After that I'll start digging into the book I have on GameMaker: Studio. The last part of it is for me to learn the guitar (My brother bought one for me for Christmas. an electric acoustic). I'll ultimately write the music to it.

Besides a small inheritance check from my grandma's estate, the best thing I got was a bottle of Deadhead rum from the neighbors. Tasty rum, and the best bottle ever:
