What does remote into mean? Are you using the vSphere client you downloaded?
Can you ping everything now then?
Yes the client. Yeah I can ping everything.
Does this mean you can ping the 2003 server also?

Yeah I can.
So look at the Host with the 2003 DC using the vSphere client.
- Can you now start the VM?
- If not, can you now at least browse to the datastore.
i'm going to try this and I will report back as soon as I can. I am not leaving until I verify everything is up and running.

It's not up yet. Testing it though and will report back.

If you can use the vSphere website you are used to using, use that instead of the fat client.

I assume this means you were able to start it though?
Please provide appropriate details.

Perhaps some helpful information
The hardware is running ESXi and has it's own IP address - what is it?
You can find out what the IP of the ESXi server is by going to the data center and looking on the screen
The VM that is the down DC has it's own IP, what is it?
That's a 172 address no wonder you can't access it!

Are theses VMs local to the server, or are they on a SAN / NAS?
