Full workstation backups before we do a Windows 10 upgrade on all of them at a client. Not going to make nearly the progress they want, but they also knowingly left the Windows 10 upgrade till late.

I kind of want to see one of those. And really want to see one. And actively want to avoid eight of them! LOL
I am SO not a pop culture guy.
Thanks for the riddle. lol
Is Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that you really want to see?
On a certain level I want to see TROS fail. I want Disney to get the idea that what they have done with Star Wars is bad and they should feel bad. (https://www.superherohype.com/movies/472176-kathleen-kennedy-claims-star-wars-films-have-no-source-material)
I'm with you on that! I feel that the new SW stuff has betrayed the old fans in an attempt to make new ones with a different agenda. I know that it's a new generation, but you don't have to burn the old fans to cater to the new ones, there is a way to do both.
But to me, I feel like there is a new group that disliked Star Wars and just wanted to ruin it, so they got Disney to make something different, slap SW brand on it, and take it away from the SW fans to make it a different thing for different people.
It's not really different tho. They are telling the same d*** story over and over, but screwing the established norms all to h***.

I don't know anything about the Star Wars Expanded Universe but I would love to see a movie similar to games like KOTOR and The Force Unleashed.

Yeah, that's stuff that makes me happy. KOTOR, to me, is better than even the original trilogy.

@pchiodo just replaced our drier. Now I have to take the old one over to Rachel's new apartment and hook it up.

Man - I hate to think that way, but I suppose it's possible.
George has apparently stated that the EU was not "his" universe, but one for the EU. If GL had kept making movies, he likely would not have followed the books... though I really wonder if he would have reshot EP4 and called it EP7.

Man - why? Upgrades suck! backup date and start over!

I'm guessing here, because I'm in "just doing what I'm told" mode. My guess is that every single machine here is a whitebox and different applications on all of them in addition to needing "just the data".
Also, the Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade has always gone smoothly for me. Guess there is a first time for everything! knock on wood

We are doing hundreds like this and very few hiccups. Upgrades happen every day with Windows 10, it's not like it used to be. It's more like Linux now, just transparent. You don't realistically re-image your fleet twice a year, so either you skip updates or you upgrade in place.

I did the whole fleet of Windows 7 like this here. 20-ish devices without an issue.

OK so I started out saying to myself - well that's different, 7 to 10 is different than 10 1507 to 10 1511... but perhaps it's not as much different as it used to be.
And you're right - upgrading versions inside Windows 10 has been mostly problem free for me.

Things have certainly changed. But it's that MS has mostly fixed updates, and moved from broken "LTS mindset" to the more modern "regular frequent releases" which, on its own means nothing, but generally comes with replacing the idea that updates can be breaking and moves to a world where updates are small, regular, and reliable.
Like how Fedora updates have been trivial for a long time, but CentOS 7 to CentOS 8 still isn't possible!

Found the craft beer garden at Dallas zoo and a big Christmas tree.!

@black3dynamite @jmoore it's like 65F here right now. About the same for tomorrow, so I'll be wearing shorts for turkey day.
-
@jmoore I've drank there a few times. The Dallas Zoo is good for that.

About to open presents with my daughter. Just back from her birthday dinner (at Denny's.)

Nice! Not terribly cold here but chilly wind. Happy Thanksgiving buddy!

Yeah we had a fun time. Me and Percy did our electronica dance impressions in the strobe tunnel.
