Got into work. Checked on everything. Everything is okay. So now I am out the door to a root canal and a crown. $1000 with insurance.
Don't forget to post after the drugs start wearing off. Everybody likes making fun of folks high on anesthetics.
I am not on medication because I went home afterward and went to sleep. The dentist told me it should be about an hour and a half procedure. It took FOUR FLIPPING HOURS. Apparently, I am resistant to novocaine. They used over six times the normal amount. Had to drip it right onto the nerve multiple times. It kept wearing off quickly. Then the tooth wouldn't stop bleeding. My jaw hurts from being open for four hours and where they kept sticking the needle to numb me. Reminded me of my vasectomy and how they forgot to numb me and then starting cutting.....

Yeesh... Well, that's why I don't go to the dentist. I had a tooth or three that probably should have been root canaled. They fell out / broke off before I could afford to get to a dentist, and I've had no more problems since.

Snowing here in NJ.

Snowing here in NJ.
It just quit for us here in NE Ohio. Thankfully only around 5" for us, so not a huge deal. Just enough to shutdown all the schools today.
-
We had freezing rain here last night, but clear today. Very cold, though.

It is an NJ thing I guess, it varies whenever they dedice. They called us at 4:50 AM, so it was my wake up call.

Yes, or call the night before....

Schools close at the drop of a hat anymore. Too afraid of lawsuits.

Not around here.
In our highschool (that @Minion-Queen and I went to) we had a few students die because they didn't close the school when obviously they needed to and there was no safe way to get to school from even right across the street, even on foot... but they still kept not closing them.

I would rather them close at the drop of a hat than not at all when they should. Safety should come first.

I don't really understand why there are physical schools at all, for the most part. The entire idea is antiquated.

There have been suggestions about having an "online" congress, where the reps would stay in their districts with their constituents and would all convene online when necessary.

Texas offers this already to all students. It's not mandatory of course. But it is a state-wide option. Few (if any) other states have that. TX has had it for a while.

The kids are getting ready to head to the library for homeschool book club day.

Without public schools, where would the janitors and fast food employees of tomorrow come from? Also, how could the county keep raising my property taxes without the existence of public schools leeching tons of tax money?
