Small victory: Acquired approval and just ordered 4 Seagate enterprise grade hard drives to install on one of our servers to replace the usage of a Synology ds1512 + consumer hard drives.

Spent all morning with a tech trying to recreate our door access system from scratch. The machine that it lived on before had a drive failure, no recoverable data (including all the backups and database, which only lived on that machine). Finally got it all running right, but everyone that walked out of the office had to go to the front door to get in since their access cards didn't work anymore. I'll be firing off a backup of this system later this afternoon so we don't have to go through this again.
Didn't that system give you trouble a while back, too? I seem to recall hearing about it.
The PC died a while back, today we had to finally re-create the whole shebang. Since the door locks kept working, nobody really noticed at first.

Hanging out with the family.

debating sushi, but that means I have to stay at work vs leaving early due to the Holiday. Makes no sense for me to have sushi with friends in Irving when I work in Farmers Branch to leave early to go home to LE then back to Irving.
@NerdyDad @scottalanmiller @NetworkNerd know the struggle is real.

debating sushi...
If it debates back, it's not been dead long enough.

Works here. Maybe because of your geolocation?
-
Who knows. Seems foolish to make it look like your site failed, though.

It is Target. We know how they tend to be with technology.

But does that make it more likely that they accidentally made themselves look like they went down, or they actually did?

Or the problem is on your end

My end can't create an access denied message from their server. And I'm not the one that found it, I just tested it and posted about it.
-
@scottalanmiller Maybe they blocked your IP address by APache.

Likely, but a foolish move as it makes local shoppers that are traveling have to switch to their competition to have things shipped even to US addresses and makes it look like they have failed - consideration a reputation for tech problems, not something that you want. Anyway, I contacted them to see if it's an accident. Maybe their regional servers are down.
-
In a quick search, there were people complaining about this error message a few months ago from inside the US with US IP addresses.
-
Target said that there can be issues from overseas, even though they do business here. But their site started working. So the issue was temporary. But did last about an hour I think.

Legoland waterpark... done with that part for today, its a little too chilly for them.
