I'm rebuilding a XenServer host. It looks like a drive kind of failed on me, but the repair installed to a spare drive and my software raid is rebuilding. Another one of those "it can't be this easy" moments.
Did the system work as intended though?

Which system? The original host? MDADM? XenServer "Upgrade"?

The entire system as you configured it, Software RAID I'd highly question if it didn't work as intended. The recovery process (I assume you planned a process for this event?)

No, this is a learning process. We had a catastrophic failure on OpenStack, and had to rebuild quickly, so I went with XenServer since it had been the best of all the options/budget.

@Kelly Ah that sucks, sorry about that then.

I am drafting a DR&P document right now, including contact list, backup/restore processes, emergency contacts etc.
Fun.
Documentation...

Documentation...
Is a dirty word in my book, but it's importance is huge.

Exactly, and more importantly, descriptive and concise documentation. I don't want to have to read "Gone with the Wind" to find one tidbit of critical information.

Just back from dinner. Grocery stores were all closed for the holiday.

Well yesterday was Easter, today was the Easter "day off from work".

Debating what to do with the cheese sticks I bought 4 hours ago at lunch and inadvertently left on my desk instead of putting in the fridge.

Probably just gonna toss them.
I'm funny with food.
I'm funny with a lot of stuff, but particularly warm food and leftovers.

Four hours is nothing. My kids take that long to eat them initially!

Cheese does not go bad that quickly. American businesses advertising "freshness" have blinded you to reality.

Same with mayo. You can leave mayo out all day, not a problem. It turns yellow, of course, and that doesn't look good, but it is safe to eat.

Cheese can't go bad that quickly.... it sits for months just to turn into cheese initially!!

I'll leave the cheese in the fridge for @JaredBusch and @scottalanmiller
