Good - Maybe it'll work.
However, there seems to be a number of sites that require it in order to function 'correctly'

Any good ones? I actually love not having it because it makes it super simple to filter all kinds of crap from the level of an ad to the level of an entire site. If someone thinks that their own content is that worthless, I sure don't want to waste my time on it.

They replaced it in the UEB Free already.

Java is unrelated to Flash though. HP still requires Java for ILO too

We have a lot of stuff that requires either flash, java or silverlight. Anything we develop in house is a native windows app or a silverlight web app.

I know, I was just pointing out that many things still require bug riddled extensions putting us at risk.

Most of those things, like Java for an HP ILO, can be isolated to networks that are not on the Internet or are highly protected. They don't need to be on general use machines.
