Just went for a walk. Man it was a windy afternoon!
I haven't kept track of it of course,.. but it seems that the winds here have increased over the years. We have seen stronger winds more often - enough that instead of solar I have thought about a VAWT - not that the HOA would allow that any more than solar.
VAWT? Vertical Axis Wind Turbine; they are pretty neat in operation and build.

Dominica's parents' house is a couple blocks from a VAWT factory. Been making VAWTs there for a decade or more.

Nope, just a bad joke. I've gotten so many great reactions from people while I'm working at the jail and get a phone call tho. "Sorry, I'm at the jail right now and have to finish this up. Can I touch base with you latter?" So many people hear "I'm in the jail right now"

Had second interview today with local technolgy distributor for a Tech Support Engineer poisition. Interview started at 9:30 and I just left a half hour ago with wirtten offer in hand (and had lunch out for the first time in who knows how long). Looks like I'm goign to need to brush up my Linux skills, @scottalanmiller your book couldn't come at a better time!

Congrats - I have a second call tomorrow afternoon. While I'm not complaining (mainly because of just how this week has gone to the pile) it's rare that the first and second call are a week apart. But - I'll take it.

@gjacobse True this was a week after the first call; my other interview with the local university it was only 2 business days between first and second.
