Amazon Echo

March 5th for us.
-
Looks neat. Looking forward to some reviews.
-
I am sure that SAM and I will use this very differently. I am looking for it to be for business usage more than for personal (though I am sure my teenager will highjack it from time to time).
-
Wow.. Prime members get a 50% discount..
I'm still not sure i would ever use it though. -
Even if only a room stereo it is worth it. Cheaper than other Bluetooth players.
-
Yeah, maybe, isn't the pill $149? compared to the normal price of the Echo...

My last nice BT stereo was like $129. It is really nice, but this is $99 and does more and looks way cooler.

And the Echo is its own networked device. No need for another device to stream through BT if you don't want to. Way more useful on its own.

For $99 it's probably worth farting around with

Exactly. SO cheap.

They look interesting,.. but I just wonder what my kids would ask it...
As for streaming music.. there is more TV watching in my house then music. so I listen to Pandora from my phone... -

Curious - Business usage? how so?
-
In theory I can use it as a personal assistant to setup tasks, reminders, add things to my calendar.
-
It does that in its own software, though, right? It doesn't add appointments to your Exchange calendar, or does it?
-
Not really sure there isn't a ton yet. I do know that it works with IOS. So in theory I should be able to add things that and from that I can import easily into Exchange.
-
Then again if it doesn't than it is a good priced Bluetooth speaker and Wikipedia device

It has an app for iOS. I'm not sure if that qualifies as "works with iOS." My understanding is that it adds appointments to its own app, not to iOS or Android. Hopefully they expand that feature.
