How can I give Exchange users permission to send as a distribution group?
-
At one client, their LoB software sends email as the user. Works great. The developer recent added a new function for sending shipping information and the client wanted that all to come from a [email protected] instead of the users.
I created a distribution group in Exchange but the users are getting a typical unable to send as this user message.
If this was another user mailbox I know exactly where the setting is to grant sends permissions, but in the properties of a distribution group, I can find no place to set this permission.

Which version of Exchange?

It's in the security tab for the distribution within Active Directory Users & Computers, not the Exchange console. Add user there and tick 'Allow Send As'. You have to select View, Advanced Features to see this option.

Awesome, just made the change. Will have the user reboot in the morning and try again.
