Zimbra is an email platform that integrates with NextCloud and "brings NextCloud into Zimbra."
NextCloud has an email client, too. So you could do the reverse and use NextCloud as your interface and any email with IMAP as your server. Then Zimbra, Dovecot, MailCow, whatever is an option.

Then add OpenOffice or another integration into NC to get the app side of things.

Yeah, the answer here is Nextcloud.

Sounds like a lot of work to do yourself, all things considered, when something like Zoho exists.

yeah I think even Scott has given up on that - even though Scott I think might be hosting for NTG again.

When you can partner with MS, and offer a great service at a great price. It makes more sense for everyone and is much easier to manage for the partner when the customer needs support.

I'm guessing that Scott would agree with the partnering up bit, but I doubt he considers MS a good partner.

Zoho is pricey if you are going to use it for blob storage. We have Zoho, but also NextCloud, so that we aren't moving things like video files through Zoho.

I can definitely offer what we found to be better product at better price with Zimbra + NextCloud. We found that a solid win in cost and product quality over O365. But we left Zimbra (but not NextCloud) for Zoho. But Zoho we found to be better than MS products, at a fraction of the price. A dramatic shift.

Something I've not seen mentioned, and is well worth mentioning, is that you can pair NextCloud with just about any existing email service. So you can do a hybrid model of any commercial email (Google, Zoho, Microsoft, a few others that are decent) plus your NextCloud for the storage and some other pieces.

Assuming you use the IMAP client in NC - the email provider themselves really doesn't matter - NC does everything inside it self, once you install the office solution you - right?

Exactly. So someone like MXRoute, which is super cheap, would be a great solution.

@Obsolesce It sounds like he is trying to make money off this in the future by setting up a service to charge for.
